Fantastic, love this. He's one of my favourites and he's going to be an excellent D man for a long time.

Love the signing. Rasmus is a beauty, happy to have him for the next 6 years at least.

Overpayment at the moment but could turn out a steal in a few years. Hopefully, they can start utilizing him more and there is potential for a Hanifin-Andersson pairing.
I am assuming he just got paid Hamonic's money?

Is it known if the personal situation which led to Hamonic requesting a move to Western Canada has resolved?

He's been the Flames' 3rd best defender at worst this season and already worth the contract. I expect it will be a steal as soon as next season, even if not, it will likely be one of the building blocks for the next cycle of contention. Great deal.

Seems like a pretty standard contract for a 2nd pairing defenseman. Value could get really good in a hurry if Andersson keeps improving.

Everyone has already said what I would about this being a great deal, so I'll just post my favorite Andersson gif. He has quite a selection already.

Honestly I think what the Flames need to do now is move Rasmus with Hanifin and start grooming them for top pairing duty. Then sign Brodie and keep him around as Gio's partner since they are proven to be so good together, with the idea of eventually moving them down to the second pair while letting the younger guys take over.
Rest of the year run Hamonic and Kylington, let hamonic walk in the offseason and roll out Valimaki Kylington bottom pair next year.

Oh yes oh yes! This signing came out of nowhere, but I'm sure glad it's happened. Excellent deal that is going to be a steal as early as next season. I have no doubt that soon enough he'll be putting up 40+ point seasons every year and when he does, watch out. Sky is the limit for this guy. It also seems like he's a massive jerk to the opposition, but I'm glad he's our jerk.
Watching him develop into the player he is now puts to rest any of the chatter about how Treliving 'lost' the Baertschi trade. It's a huge win AINEC. I'm excited to see what kind of player he'll be in the future. Massive massive home-run selection in the 2nd round.

And have Yelesin as the 7th d-man. If we need a RHD for some reason we can put him there.

Agree with everything but letting Hamonic walk in the off-season. I think the Flames should trade him and recoup some assets. No lock Brodie is re-signed so letting one walk is acceptable but not both and no to a 6x6 for Brodie
