So reading some new articles on CBR, it seems there was a combination effect for the GoT directors leaving SW. A problem with the directors being on a short leash in terms of creative control, which is also what happened with the original Solo directors, and the toxic fan base reaction to Last Jedi (triggering their PTSD from GoT).
Quote:
Benioff and Weiss were slated to direct a new trilogy of Star Wars films as Skywalker Saga comes to an end with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. However, they have recently backed out of the project due to scheduling conflicts with their Netflix projects. According to The Hollywood Reporter, potential worries over fan reactions in the wake of the final season of Game of Thrones may be to blame, with one source blaming "toxic fandom" found in the Star Wars franchise.

Also, looks like Feige is going to produce his own stand alone Star Wars film, but will not be taking over the trilogy the GoT guys were set to make.
Can they just bring back the crew that did Rogue One?

Rogue One is great (re-watched it last weekend, by far the best of the new Star Wars) but by all reports it was saved in the edit. They brought on Tony Gilroy, did huge re-shoots and rumours are it was much different. Gareth Edwards is seemingly in limbo now.
Mandalorian exceeded expectations. Excited to see where it goes from here.
A+

The 2nd attraction at Disney's Galaxy Edge, the Rise of the Resistance, is opening tomorrow at Walt Disney World (Disneyland's version of the ride opens Jan 17). Looks like the publication ban for people that have already ridden the ride has lifted.
I am seeing good reviews from the people who have ridden it so far.
Videos have spoilers for the ride. Don't think they have anything for Rise of Skywalker.
Spoiler!
The queue and "pre-ride show":

Speaking of saved in the edit, here's a neat little vid about how Lucas has always been a fraud.
He’s not a fraud. People have incorrectly credited him to be a lone Genius. When he was a filmmaker in his 20s, people had no problem telling him something was sh**. As a legend, no one had the guts to say something was off. This the prequels tragic dip in quality.
But you can’t deny his world-building abilities as a storyteller. He just had more/better filters (Spielberg, Kassdan, etc) when he was younger. Personally i find these types of stories inspiring. It humanizes people we revere.

There was an amusing little Easter egg in last week's episode of Resistance.
Kaz and Neeku had to go undercover aboard a First Order ship to get a part needed to repair the Colossus. They went in disguised as First Order repair technicians.
Their uniforms were the same as the one Kylo Ren wore when he went undercover as "Matt the Radar Technician" on that SNL sketch a couple years ago.
Also, Bobby Moynihan and Taran Killam provided the voices of two Stormtroopers in the episode. They were the writers of the "Matt" sketch.

Looks like there might be another series about Ahsoka and Sabine's search for Ezra.
It would be another Dave Filoni creation, and would likely take place after Episode VI.

I'm not surprised that Resistance is winding down, I am suprised with it almost to the end, and honestly nothing has really happened in the season.
The timing of after episode VI is interesting for one reason. After the Battle of Jakku that ended the Empire, the surviving ideologically pure Imperial's including Hux's father, Hux and Rae Sloane fled to the unknown regions to meet the seeds of the First Order.
Ezra and Thrawn are in the unknown regions, are we going to see Ashoka and Sabine running into the First Order. It also lends the question from TROS, who's flying the ghost.

Looks like the release date for Clone Wars leaked, will start on Feb. 17th in a promo Disney put up and subsequently took down.. I am assuming same format as Mandalorian.
I am most likely the most excited for this out of all the new Star Wars content. Ahsoka is my favourite and this season appears to be largely focused on her arc.
