ha, the American player got 2 slashing penalties on the same shift. That would never happen in the NHL.

Was the 2nd slash worse than the 1st?

Was that a flop by the Russian? I’m watching the US feed and they’re not showing any replays.

He definitely embellished it.

USA defeats Russia, which means that Canada just needs to defeat Germany and Czechia in its final two games to win the Group.
The arena should be rocking for Canada vs the host Czechs on NYE.

Has there been any word on Lafreniere? Without him, they are going to struggle offensively.

TSN has video of the "head butt" here:

It's not much (which is likely why it's only one game), but he should have known better.

Why? Because he wasn’t a skill player? Like Pat Quinn, Dave Lowry, etc?

Strange goalie pull decision. Way too late to make a difference. Now Germany has a -3 goal differential in this game. Canada’s improves +3.

That embarrassing loss to Russia could really help Canada in the long run.
I wanted to see Rodrigue get a game but it looks like Canada has found its goalie.

Canada can finish anywhere from 1-4.
Any kind of win (regulation of OT or SO) puts us first.
A OT or SO loss puts us second.
Assuming Russia beats Germany in regulation, a regulation loss puts us 4th.
Assuming Germany beats Russia in regulation, a regulation loss puts us 3rd.
Assuming the Russia/Germany game goes to OT, a regulation loss puts us 3rd.
And goal differential will never matter in any scenario.
