Hated TLJ, loved it. I was a fan of TFA though so if that one wasn’t for you then you probably won’t like it.

Honestly you probably don’t even need to watch TLJ when watching this trilogy. This was a MUCH better film.

Still not perfect, so don’t get your hopes up. Definitely some problems. But I loved a lot of it.

Gives me some hope, I guess. I liked TFA and hated TLJ, so that's exactly what I wanted to hear. I might make time for this movie in the theater after all.

Felt the same way as well. Make time for it, like people have said, it has its warts, but if you don't, you might regret it.

I can't wait to watch it again in the theater and digest it more.

I'm not exactly sure what about TLJ was for critics. If you remove the fact it's a Star Wars movies and judged it for what it was, it was a horrible film.

If you hated or disliked ep 8, cleanse your star wars soul with this movie. You won't regret it

It was pretty bad, but for all sorts of different reasons than TLJ.

At least The Mandalorian is good.

Looks like ROS is having a slightly dissapointing first weekend box office at $175 million, TLJ was at 220 million TFA at about 274 million.

With the mixed reviews and the inevitable slides that can happen, I would expect that ROS is going to be in tough to meet TFA 963 million dollar domestic or TLJ $620 million dollar domestic.

With a $175M opening, it'll be in tough to crack $600M. Will probably play similar to Rogue One and finish in the mid-$500's.

DEEPFAKE

Quote:
Deepfakes (a portmanteau of "deep learning" and "fake"[1]) are media that take a person in an existing image or video and replace them with someone else's likeness using artificial neural networks.[2] They often combine and superimpose existing media onto source media using machine learning techniques known as autoencoders and generative adversarial networks (GANs).[3][4]

Not yet, I've been spoiled like crazy, but I want to see how the film is put together, sometime this week

Certainly you refer to Gilbert Lawson?

I'm hoping his brother Pierce Hawthorne promptly stumbles out of the ship decrying that he's drowning.
