Using racist language in their personal life would be an example of something not against the law, not involving Stars personnel but would be something no respectable organization wants to be a part of.

I'm not sure why some of you get bothered by improper capitalization on a message board.
I'll give in, but I won't worry about my grammar or using too many commas.

So what's the trend that has you and Moneyguy so concerned, and how is this firing part of that trend?

You don't know what he did, so how can you say he should be given support and treatment? No matter what he did, Montgomery has a very public job and how someone's conduct affects the brand has to be taken into consideration.

When they interviewed the Benn and Seguin there was a subtle smirk on both their faces (almost trying to hold a laugh in). So whatever it is, I'm sure it's somewhat humorous to them.

My guess is some sort of quasi-gambling situation, or, player tampering as far as subtle recruiting.

Something that the higher ups in the organization didn’t want coming back to them in a few months, so they act now to keep their conscience clear.

And, my guess is 3 weeks ago you may have been able to deal with this issue internally. Not anymore, with the increased scrutiny and sensitivity around coaches and, as mentioned, those that also signed off on that coach, from the GM to ownership, covering themselves.

My guess is now revolving around one of the following:

1) being drunk/high or getting drunk/high at work.
2) having sexual relations with a prositute in the office / on work premises
3) gambling on non-stars NHL teams

- very unprofessional
- does not involve anyone else in organization
- not criminal in nature

The first two actually happened in the last place I worked. The hooker one was funny because it was during stampede and he took her back to the office because he had a wife ay home and was too cheap to pay for a hotel. He was also too cheap to pay the hooker and then she came on a Monday and demanded her money. And then they checked the security camera footage. And then he got fired. And then he got divorced.

Prostitutes are illegal, everyone.

Sorry, I just had to say it because there's some cognitive dissonance on this topic lately. Soliciting a prostitute is 100% illegal everywhere except a handful of rural counties in Nevada.

Sure it's illegal, but if you caught a worker boning a pro at work, you might fire him. Would be a dick move to call the police.

You are missing Cali's point, prostitution is illegal whether you'll call police on him or not. So, your statement that not criminal in nature is false.

Maybe he was showing up to practices, meetings or even games a bit boozed up. Not illegal, but not ok.

This wouldn't be shocking with his history of DUI issues.

Being an alcoholic isn't illegal, but it's likely they stipulated a clause to fire him should he let it become an issue that relates in any way to his professional duties.

Does he have more than DUI?

If this is alcohol related, must be about drinking on the job or being drunk on the job.

But I suspect there is more to it. If it was a player, they would be given many opportunities to get themselves right.
