Stupid Flyers

On the bright side, it doesn't appear that the great defense Noops has put together is any better than the talented but much less rated Hawks.

However, Noops boys tried to kill Sean Burke! Sure Noops, have theh Flyers beat the old man with hockey sticks until he is broken! Senior Citizen just trying to make a little extra for retirement and your goons nearly beat him to a pulp.

Ryan Miller will now shoulder the bulk of the games. So ends the Hawks.

Flyers Score 8????

Looks like the Flyers Offense finally woke up! Andy Mcdonald and superstud rookie Gilbert Brule lead the way for the Flyers, as the team went 5 for 8 on the PP.

In the Minors, Roman Cechmanek lead the Phantoms to a 4-1 win.

I told you Beck that you needed a #1 Dman.

Avs squander two goal lead and lose to the Caps 3-2. Some guys need to step it up in Colorado. That's three losses in a row now, following a five-game win streak.

Still not enough offense in Pittsburgh. Sedin gets shipped out after a disappointing tenure and Straka gets his chance to spark the offence from the 2nd line center spot. Spezza returned in a limited capacity in this game but we hope that he comes back at 100% for the next game and that captain Koivu will also be available when we play the Sharks on Friday. Neither player involved in the trade between these 2 clubs played a major role in the outcome of this one. Pens Suck at Home!!!

Federov Ejected, Prospal, Lehtinen pickup slack.
Sergei Federow was upset after receiving a game misconduct for charging. Line-mate Vaclav Prospal teamed up with Jere Lehtinen to exact some revenge. Lehtinen, the club's leading scorer, has been skating on the third line to help provide some offensive balance to the line-up. However, with Federov getting the misconduct after knocking Cammaleri out of the game (charlyhorse) on a questionable hit only 1:22 into the first period, Lehtinen pulled double duty. Either Lehtinen or Prospal figured in 6 of the Canadiens 7 goals. Lehtinen had 4 assits while Prospal had 2 goals and 1 assist.

Defensively the Canadiens held the Ducks to 17 shots, and Thomas Vokoun got the support he had been lacking in his last two starts.

With the win the Canadiens remain within 2 points of the league lead. Most importantly, the Canadiens keep a 2 point lead on the 2 million dollar battle with the Capitals. Both clubs have been negotiating with Quiznos for a sponsorship deal next season and it has come down to a battle between the two clubs. Quiznos has offered 2 million dollars to the club that can finish highest in standings this year. Its setting up to be a battle within the overall playoff race.

HOWL!

Welcome back Mats! Sundin returns from injury and with a goal and an assist led the Yotes to a 5-4 victory. Handzus added 2 goals and a helper, while Brett Clark had 3 assists.

Jim Slater of the Islanders issued a vicious boarding hit on Yote Westcott who is now on the Injured list. Serge Aubin jumped to Westcott's defence and smoked Slater in the face witha hard right hand (he got a misconduct for his efforts).

The Desert Dogs get a day off for more healing before facing the Blues on Friday.

Jets Fly By Sens!

With Sami Kapanen out of the game with an eye injury with Winnipeg Jets managed to score 4 goals and hold the Sens to just 1 goal for a 4-1 win on Wednesday evening.

Without Kapanen, coach Sutter was forced to do some line juggling and the new combinations paid off. Mike Ribeiro scored twice and was reunited with left winger Brett McLean. Denis Arkhipov, who played with David Moss and Carsen Germyn, picked up 2 assists, while Germyn scored his first goal of the season. Defensive MVP of the Jets Shane Hnidy scored his 11th goal of the season.

Johan Hedberg continues to be a good pickup for the Jets, as he made 21 saves for his 3rd win in 4 games with the Jets.

The rematch goes tonight.

I know it's really late (like today's games about to be posted) but I wanted to take this first opportunity to congratulate Jeff Tambellini on a huge game, where he scored 4 goals. 4! Go Jeff!
