Lucic seems like a really nice guy. He's really won me over. Much better than that pouting baby, Neal.

You can call it soft but the game needs to evolve to that
Basketball is charmin soft, maybe people should stick to watching that if hockey is too violent.

Launching yourself into another player is basically a description of hitting. And vulnerable is subjective bs. What are they supposed to only hit people who they are making eye contact with? I get it if hes on his knees or something but a player skating with the puck is not hittable now?

He separated man from puck, shoulder to shoulder. No penalty call.

The day shoulder to shoulder checks like that become suspendable may as well get rid of hitting. Go for it if that's the way the league wants to go. I get the head protection... I realize this is the way it needs to go legally.

But holy crap there's an old man inside me that just thinks the nhl is not even the same sport anymore it is so soft these days.

Not sure if it was mentioned but idiot moron Craig Button on TSN roasted Lucic the day Ward put him and Gaudreau together in practice. Since then 2 goals and an assist.

Suck it Button! You know nothing!

There's no need to be like that. It was an unnecessary hit that injured a player trying to make a living. Rinaldo has a few options to do his job without that kind of viciousness that still has the spirit of physical hockey.

You can play the game without trying to hurt someone. It's really that simple, and that's where the game should be heading with all we know about head injuries and their long term affects.

Sometimes people get hurt from a clean hit. This is
one of those times. Gotta keep your head up.

You're right and it's a civilized point of view but damn it's hard to wrap your head around growing up watching the blood sport it used to be!

I can see the argument for suspension.
I'm confused but also haven't followed suspensions too closely in recent years. Last I followed, hits to the head were illegal, are you saying it's now illegal to hit high chest?

Monday is the most-important game of the year. Pull out all the stops to get to 5-0.

He plays hard every game, and though he may not have the same skills anymore, he sure makes up for it with work ethic. I'm a fan.

He caught most of his shoulder, let's not get carried away saying that he intended to injure him.

The boys are starting to round into form... still a long ways to go and a lot of season left, but you can tell they’re turning the corner.

Happy for Talbot — had some big saves in the second and at the end to close it out.

Johnny looked amazing. He’s going to be the key to making a run here.

Ryan is such a good hockey player — Dube looks great as well. I’m guessing they’ll keep Lucic on that line, and keep Johnny with Monahan and Backlund.
