Kate Thompson with CMLC says environment assessment of site will get underway this month. Next month, there will be an information session on the project. #yyccc
There will be public engagement starting in January on the arena; gathering what people want for the building: street activation, programming, public realm integration and facility design. #yyccc
Final report from the engagement: April 2020. #yyccc
Arena construction: Q3 2021 with completion for Q3 2024. It had been estimated at spring 2021 so that's been pushed back a few months. #yyccc

It’s interesting.
Tickets on the secondary market are often at or even sometimes below STH rates now. The Flames have sent out emails at times offering a code for tickets at 30 percent discount.
Given the change in disposable income that has happened for a lot of people, it will be interesting to see how much more the Flames think they will be able to squeeze from people.

As someone who is about to graduate with a Master of Architecture, I'm excited about the opportunities for revitalization throughout the rivers district!
However, as someone who is swimming in student debt, I'm not excited about the upcoming increases in prices, making games even more inaccessible!

Do you have a link to this? In my recollections of the past two or three years of discussion, King has never committed to any specifics about the new building beyond that it would be absolutely state of the art. This has often been taken to mean it would be an inverted bowl, in large part because Roseti did the early renders, and Flames logo and gear appear in their promotional material, but as far as I know no one has publicly committed to this design for the new building.
