Weight gaining Supplements
I saw the post below about weight loss supplements and I thought I would ask a few of you. I am actually trying to gains some muscle a little underweight right now. Have any of you used any products from like GNC? I am trying to gain 10-15 pounds but not too much fat more muscle of course and no steroids either.
Is there anyting someone can recommend me, tips? or warn me also?
Thanks

I tried things to no avail, including creatine, whey protein, n-large, and mammoth weight gainer. I just cannot gain weight if my life depended on it.
The best bet is probably spending the money on a fitness guru, and getting setup on a complete diet and weight lifting program.

Work out and you will automatically gain some weight because muscle weighs more than fat...and you will also eat more when you work out. Increase your protein consumption if you're working out a lot...become a bit of a carnivore (lean chicken!) and work out....have a protein shake etc..but exercise is key here.
You're not going to gain weight simply by having protein powder, whey gain........you need to work out also, especially if your metabolism is active and you dont gain weight even by eating a lot.

Buy an entire roast chicken at the grocery store, eat the whole thing, work out.
Rinse, repeat... basically protein and excercize are your biggest friends

Peanut Butter.
You don't need to go to GNC to fill yourself up with synthetic crap, do less cardio, eat more peanut butter and **** will even out.

You need to hit the weights. Other than that you need to eat properly. I use a few products. SuperPump 250, a pre workout drink. It really gets me fired up and ready to throw the weights around. I also use SizeOn, creatine and post workout drink. I usually take the SizeOn during my workout or before bed on non workout days. Does this stuff work? Well I noticed that I could squeeze out an extra rep in my middle set. Things that I coudn't do before. As for the creatine, I have to wonder. For whatever reason I forgot to take it three days in a row this weekend. I went to the gym last night and I would never have guessed. If thats an indication or not, I don't know.

Eat right, work out and add in some protein before and after a workout. I don't use creatine, I use some all natural whey powder from costco I think. Cheaper than GNC. The protein alone won't help you gain weight. Eat good things, work out and also, perhaps the most important this is to get the proper amount of sleep. Sleeping lets your body heal and regenerate muscles. If your not getting enough sleep, you're not helping your body out much.

Beer... best "weight- gain supplement" I have EVER seen.
But seriously, hit the weights. Try sets of 8-4-4-8 reps, with higher weight in the 4's.

I've always had some form of protein shake. I found the protein Isolates are a little more bang for your buck. Some of them will have double the protein that these Whey Proteins advertise. I think Pop-Eyes is a better store than GNC. Not sure where you are, but the GNC in my city, closest to my house, is very over priced and the staff seems to know nothing about the product. Pop-Eyes, from my experience, is very professional with good prices.
Another good source for weight gain supplements are nutritionist stores. I started going to my Dad's nutritionist and she recommended some supplements that have blown the generic protein mix out of the water.
But you can't gain proper weight unless you are working your entire body. Don't waste your time just trying to pump up your arms or chest, you have to do sqauts, dead lifts etc.. work your entire body. It is a proven fact by working your lower body you build a bigger upper body, any weight lifter who knows a thing or two will tell you this.

I gained a lot of weight by eating lots of foods. Carefull though because you get into this habit and you can't stop! Back when I was 18 I'd be able to eat two footlong subs for a meal and still be able to eat something else.
One thing I used to do in recent years is stop at Booster Juice and have a smoothie. I'd do this on my way home from work. Then I'd have supper. I didn't realize how many calories are in the smoothie, it is like a meal replacement. I'd basically have two meals within 30 minutes of each other. That put on the pounds quickly, and I wasn't physically active at that time.
Keep in mind that you must exercise regularily and eat healthy foods if you are to increase how much you eat, otherwise you'll just add fat and be out of shape.

Both deadlifts and squats pretty much work every muscle in your body.
Big three are deadlift, squats and benchpress.

This thread is a good idea because I need to gain weight as well. I want to gain healthy weight. Not weight by eating peanut butter.
Lots of you are talking about exercising and lifting weights. Are you talking about the same thing or different things? Because I don't like going to the gym and lifting weights, doing reps and sets etc. Personally I find it incredibly boring. I like to exercise by mountain biking, boxing, hockey etc. I like doing the activities verus working out in a gym. Am I going to get the desired effect this way? Or is lifting weights the faster way to gain weight?

Being naturally skinny is not a bad thing as long as you're fit and healthy. I've heard that you age slower when underweight.

Hey boys and girls,
InTheSlot is back! Hope everyone has been doing alright the past year or so.
In regards to gaining weight, one of the things I repeat several times to my girlfriend and her children (who are slowly gaining weight between the ages of 7-10) is to eat dinner early, do some kind of activity for a while other than just sitting on the couch, and then go to sleep. On the contrary, for those you who like me who are looking to actually gain that weight, the best thing to do is to eat before you go to bed. This way you're putting on pounds and doing nothing to take them off.
I can't say it's a guaranteed 100% method though, because I myself have a crazy fast metabolism and there are some things you just can't fool, and mother nature seems to be one of them.

The problem with that is then your body is digesting the food while your trying to sleep. This takes a long time, and since your body is working, you are not able to go into deeper stages of sleep. If you're working out, muscle regeneration takes place in the deepest levels of sleep, so if your body is digesting, you may not be getting enough deep sleep.
Generally, I have heard for those who work out, don't eat for 3 hours before you go to sleep.

You girlfriend is 7-10 years old? eewwwww..
If you don't like peanut butter eat Eggs. I eat 2 or 3 eggs after every work out, great source of protein. Cooked or raw. Also try chicken breasts for supper (doesn't have to be for supper but it makes for a good meal plan), probably the most popular source of protein.. well .. maybe the second most popular, depending on the girl. Oh yes, I went there.

The Booster Juice that I frequent has a BadAss Jacks right beside it. I see so many people go into BadAss for a sub and then over to Booster Juice for a full size smootie like its just a drink. I allways laugh to myself.

I like this thread, because I'm in the same position and have that crazyfast metabolism, and can't gain weight no matter what I eat. Funny how everyone has said to do weights, and then there was one with Peanut butter. I'm 5'6" little guy who only weighs 140 pounds, and the only thing that helps me gain a little weight (although I get sick of it when having it continuously), is Cream Cheese. You just start packing on the pounds fast, but you get a bit grossed out and stop. Beer doesn't gain you weight, it gains you a gut that is impossible to work off.

That's like people who go to the McDonald's Drive Through, supersize their meal, but order a DIET soda to be healthy! What's the point?
