I'd bet they paid the rest of the contract if Peters resigned.

Sure would be nice if I could hear what BT is saying. My laptop and Youtube are on full blast and I can barely hear him. TALK INTO THE MIC

I think moving away from Peters is exactly the right move here but you have to admit if photographs of Peters in blackface surfaced instead of the incident of using the N-word we are probably still discussing his dismissal today. Yet the PM somehow keeps his job. We will one day have to find a happy medium here were people are all treated equally in cases like this.

Him offering to resign maybe opens to door to redemption in the future.

I view it as very different things.
It is easier for an organization to move on from someone with these behaviors. Trudeau was voted back in.
I don't like it, but I don't know how you change that.
So i don't totally grasp the comparisons.

Alright, well its probably good you never made a mistake in your life

Under your logic, why should Trudeau be able to hold the most 'premium' job in the country and be our leader after his racist activities? I despise the guy, but I think how that was handled is exactly how we should as a society. Allow people to apologize and learn from it.

Cherry, Peters, et al, are all just fodder to the outrage culture media circus.

Possible, but highly unlikely. No NHL team, nor the NHL wants to have that tied to them.

You started with a blanket statement about music containing cursing at work as if Aliu's choice of music was, essentially, "asking for it". To word it kindly as possible, that's troublesome, and if you can't recognize this at the root then I can't imagine this conversation unfolding well.

The suggestion was sincere, so please don't throw out the dismissive catchphrases at me.

doubt it.

him offering to resign is probably contingent on him getting his contract paid out. Perhaps in a lump sum.

Again Trudeau was re-elected. Totally different thing.
Peters has every opportunity to apologize and learn from this.
Just not as an NHL head coach.

Trudeau lost his majority government and would've lost his job if viable replacement wasn't a complete knob as well. Two entirely different scenarios. On the surface I can see why you made the post but even digging a foot deeper reveals why it's a terrible comparison.

Do your best to ignore the comments section. Dear god.
I don't have any closed caption on that feed so you could imagine how useless the comments section is for me.

I never said he was asking for it. You're jumping to conclusions I just said that most people can't play that music at work. I would never condone how Peters handled it. Obviously.
