Whether true or not, it is a much easier answer than saying he has spoken to Peters as that involves several follow up questions.

Ehh, it's pretty much what you'd expect, honestly.

The team would have sent Peters home, since his presence right now is nothing but distracting. To both the players and the coaches, who have to focus on a game tonight.

I really wonder how this would have all played out if we had won a round or two in the playoffs last year and were back in first place this year. It's pretty easy to get behind firing Peters when last week most fans were somewhere between "Maybe we should look at replacing Peters" to "He needs to be fired now". On the other hand, I'm guessing Peters wishes the team had just been a little worse and he was fired last week!
