Peters can't come back. He's done. Bad day for the organization. Hopefully the team can move past this and focus on playing better hockey but we are kind of in uncharted waters here as this is not a typical firing based on team performance. Hopefully Ward and the assistants are up to the task of successfully coaching the team through the rest of the season.

Peters (like Babcock) is a bad guy. I expect the team to go on a run now that his black cloud has been lifted.
...Some of the stories from Carolina were inexcusable, too. I know from a very good source that they team HATED him. (Mod can PM me for source).

It's been half a day since the entire thing came to light. It's not going to be a "PR nightmare" if this is resolved by 11am today, or 5pm today.

There’s no way to walk this back, the end result will be his termination. It’s just formalities at this point and determining whether he can be terminated with no further compensation or not.

So, in other words, it's pretty much done but they need the lawyers to cross the t's and dot the i's before it's official and Treliving doesn't want to get ahead of himself and cause more problems

They won't do that. They will negotiate an exit so he goes quietly. There's enough grey in a contract like that to make it possible he could kick up a bit of a fuss. So they will, say, pay him something for nuisance value.

Tre says he has already spoken to Stan Bowman and other members of the Blackhawks org.
First time Tre has heard of these accusations.
Want to get it right. Can’t rush it.
Flames doing the investigation. NHL not involved as of yet.
Ryan Leslie asked what they’ll do if it is true and Tre said he can’t comment on the outcome.

As long as they are actually investigating, I'm fine with the decision being delayed. I don't think it hurts to have the organization give a fair and reasonable response to an unproven accusation by getting as much evidence as possible before making a decision.
If the 'investigation' is more about damage control and finding out how much can actually been 'proven' to protect Peters, then I would have issue.
