Most that happens is Peters is fired (with cause) and the flames get a new coach.

First off, there aren't any medals for "Earliest to Riot" - unless you want to share the info that has so convincingly assured you of his guilt?
Second, This isn't mental gymnastics as much as it's "we've seen 3 Tweets, and we should probably chill out before we start calling for heads". Considering you don't know any more than we do, wait a minute before you start throwing your stones.

I don't doubt for a second that it happened, just as Aliu has described. But, if Peters denies, says he doesn't remember saying that (which is not unreasonable given the long elapsed time), but that he is deeply sorry IF he did, although he doesn't remember doing so....there's no place for that in the game....blah, blah, blah....then I think he may survive.
But if secondary accounts like the new McMorrow one, with specific allegations surface, he's done for. But right now, it's he said, he said, and without a record, and given the timeframe that has passed, Peters can fake deniability. Although again, I am positive it happened.
My prediction is a summary execution. Before the game in Buffalo tomorrow night.

Well, no. That is a collective bargaining issue, and as far as I know there is no provision for anything like the action you suggest. The NHL cannot just arbitrarily decide to remove a team’s draft picks.
There is no chance at all that something like this would happen.

I don't know if he's guilty or not. But to immediately come up with the most non-sensical mitigating set of circumstances that realistically have a 0.1 percent chance of being true is beyond bizarre.
It is, in fact, the very definition of mental gymnastics.
Funny how you suggest I don't know any more than you do, which is true, but you seem to be the one coming up with ways to make it look good, or at least as good as possible, rather than waiting for facts.
As for throwing stones, I called your theory non-sensical because it is. Not you.
