We were on the ropes for the second period.

I like how the Oiler boards in the ATL talk about the lucky bounces the Flames always get. Are you kidding me? Weeks and weeks of nothing and then one bounce off the boards and we are the lucky ones?

Since he carry's the puck 10x more it's automatic. Monahan handles the puck like a hand grenade

Hahaha
Meanwhile in Oilers land, Neal and Kassian are over 22% shooting.

The Flames are just lucky.

Didn't see most of the game so I'm not talking about this one, but I don't know when to take this seriously anymore. There have been games this season where the Flames were easily the better team or at the very least it was pretty even, but people are so down on the Flames that several people have stated this same thing for no real reason. I mean, a tank thread(still open for some reason) was started when the team was .500 in the middle of NOVEMBER.

Game Takes: Flames 3 Flyers 2 (SO)

- good start, awful 2nd, good finish
- Rittich the difference despite late cough up
- Calgary scores with the goalie pulled
- Tkachuk winner in shoot out

Fair enough, but that should be every game. An expectation.

Was in the truck driving through the mountains listening to the game...Loubo called Mang as the guy to score about a minute before he did, talking about how hard he was working today. Would've liked to see it live, but I went a little nuts when I heard it anyway. (Maybe not a great thing to do while driving...but the road was pretty empty,)

Having looked at the game in review now, I think that Rittich pretty much stole that. Dumb move to lose the puck and get scored on (again) but happy that the guys got it back for him. He looked pretty relieved after Lindy's goal.

Loved his end-of-game celly!

In fitness to Rittich, he did mention that he expected Gio to go to the corner, so he could move the puck to him. I’m not sure what Gio was actually doing, Rittich tried to shield the puck with his body and the Flyer did a good job getting a stick on it and popping it out front.

Rittich did own it as his mistake, to be clear. Not saying it wasn’t.

Either way, he made so many huge saves he really stole this one
