Last 5 games,

Johnny is -10, 1 assist, with 9 shots.

Monahan is -6 , 1 goal and 1 assist with 16 shots.

Lindholm is -7, O points , with 12 shots.

Tkachuk is -2 , 1 goal and 1 assist , 13 shots

When your best players are that bad, little to no chance of winning.

Is that on Peters?

When they are performing as the teams best players and the team is winning , is that also on Peters?

He has one less even strength goal than both Gaudreau and Monahan this season, yet he is your target? Bizarre. Carry on then.
He's not a top 6 forward anymore. Is his play this season not making it any more clear? Guy can't get the puck in the net, or set players up.

It happens that older players play just drops off at a certain point.

Can be both?

With questions like that, and the excuses we bring up for the coaching staff when a team isn't playing well, or blame that is placed on them, seems like the point of a hockey coach is completely pointless if they have no impact on the team's performance.

The best players ALWAYS have a bigger impact than the coach!

Screw the top line give them 4th line minutes until they get their #### together. Team is way better when they are not on the ice.

if the flames come back next year with all of the same core (Monahan, Gaudreau, Giordano, Backlund) I can finally say treliving's just a very overrated GM.
Watch that first goal again. Giordano and Andersson are in position to handle a 2 on 2 with MacKinnon and Makar with Gaudreau tracking back to cover Burakovsky. Then Gaudreau completely bails on the play and leaves Gio out to dry.

Outscored 15-3 over the last 4 games.

This team needs an enema.

6 regulation wins in the first 24 games.

Can we just start cheering for lottery picks and a dump all the vets, and a core piece, come deadline?

I think the flames could get some decent assets by moving out guys like:
- backlund (1st?+)
- brodie (2nd +)
- hamonic (2nd +)
- Talbot (3rd?)
- Ryan (3rd?+)

take those pics, grab a top 5 pick this year.

I don't like this core, and feel like I'm pretty damn close to not caring about this iteration of the flames core at all. I'd like to see a flames GM who finally have some frigin stones and get ahead of dumping players on time. Maybe it's time to look at getting something out of Giordano from a trade perspective. I also think Hamonic is just a highly averaged d man. Would be just fine seeing him traded out of here if they can get decent assets back.

the flames can't be in a tear it up part of a rebuild by the time the new arena opens. Might as well get started on the next rebuild to time building a team that's at least hoping to compete by the time the new arena is here.

Playing even at home against an Avs team with 3 of the top players out is pretty sad.
Right now their opponent is essentially in the doesn't matter category.

Boys against men...

gio just abandons the far side avs player, who's just streaking in for the scoring chance. Instead Giordano shifts to the middle.

I haven't watched the replay again, but it just looked terrible during the initial replays I saw.

besides the one play, guy has been highly average.

Until they start playing like it, let’s give the minutes to the players that will actually contribute something. Woof.

We are such an easy team to play against right now. We are playing soft and slow right through the lineup. We have to figure out how to up the tempo.

Time for 13, 23 and 11 to either get things moving or get off the pot. Pouting or sulking won't get it done and if they aren't going to lead by example they should give their "letters" to those whose GAF meters aren't stuck on 0. Not scoring points is one thing, but playing without heart or desire is unacceptable.

Most games are close...if the top players were scoring like they have in the past the Flames would be winning

I still think this is just an epic funk and once they break out of it they’ll be right back in the thick of it. There’s too much talent to be this bad.

I for one am tired of the blender. Just give the lines some time together and let them gel a bit. It certainly can't be any worse.

And does anyone know the status of Brodie?
