Please note: I am only 70% sure that the player's head hit the ice; and I am 0% sure that anything that happened on the ice is the cause of this
I also wanted to make sure he was ok before I aired even the slightest hint of speculation as to how we got here - but does anyone remember a slew foot behind our net?
I don't remember if it was DAL or STL, but I'm fairly certain it was Brodie and it looked like a pretty good whip back resulting from it. It seemed to go entirely unnoticed by everyone and I never heard of it again. But I remember it being a pretty unexpected drop that I was happy to see Brodie get up from. I was watching the right of the screen pretty closely hoping to see him come back in, and thankfully he eventually did.
Anyway, something that stuck with me - did anyone else notice that?
Based on personal experience, it could be fairly safe to say that this isn't epilepsy related. The fact that he came around so quickly, is a good sign that this isn't neurological. This is just my personal opinion.
My dad had one of these randomly one time, and he had no history of fainting nor seizures. The EMS guys did a blood sugar test and his was quite low, he was working on the house all day and hadn't eaten anything in about 24 hours, so exhaustion, dehydration and low blood sugar were the culprits. He went to the hospital and they did the full array of tests, all came back negative. He's never had anything happen like it since.
Hard to say if it's a similar scenario with TJ, but hopefully it's all it is.

This can happen to anyone, and sometimes without reason. Low blood sugar one day or exhaustion, you feel lethargic, and suddenly something like this happens.

This also happened with a friend of mine. Had some blood work done on top of not having eaten since morning, and then unknowingly compounded the problem by downing an energy drink.
Fainted with convulsions and his eyes rolling into the back of his head, regained consciousness seconds later.

In high school, I gave blood and decided to bolt without the orange juice and cookies, because the cool thing about giving blood is it almost made you light headed like you were high.
I felt fine, then I was walking down the hall between classes and it was like a light switch went out, I remember walking up on the ground with a mouth full of blood from going face first into a locker.

Doctor Ian Auld says the early indications are that this is related to a fainting episode and not something inside the brain.
Going to see a neurology team. And also an internal specialist (cardiologist)
You know, I didn't even consider fainting as a possibility.
My dad passed out in a really similar manner this summer for a few moments while we had family visiting and everyone thought he had a stroke or something and had to call emergency. Was awful and he had to do a bunch of tests and couldn't travel or anything for a while, but it turned out to be a fainting spell, after running himself quite tired over the few days preceding him fainting.
I hope that's the case for Brodie, either way it's terrifying. Glad he appears alright so far.

I saw that happen once. I was driving down a secondary hiway and saw a dude in an oncoming vehicle swerve into the ditch, then hit a driveway head on and literally LAUNCH through the air in a pick up truck, finally stopping in a field.
I pulled over and was the first person there, and the driver had no idea what had just happened. Absolutely none. Said one second he was driving, and the next second he woke up with me staring at him through the window.
Scary stuff. Hopefully it's isolated and TJ's OK. These guys are all pretty in tune with their bodies, so it's even more bizarre when it happens to a pro athlete.
