Didnt sign Tkachuk longterm because of trying to keep Fro ffs. Potentially another big mistake if he doesnt start playing decent hockey.

One thing about Quine that I don't like is that a few times a game he gives the puck a away in really dangerous spots. Maybe that is something that will go away with experience though.

What? There was no discussion of a tradeoff of a long term Tkachuk deal versus "trying to keep Frolik". At best an inability to move Frolik as a cap dump may have contributed. But that's only a one year issue.

Not sure if its consensus, but I dont think he is any less effective than Frolik, Jankowski, Reider or Lucic on the ice. I dont have a problem with him playing a regular shift in the bottom 6 right now.

Flames will start slow, 2 shots in first 2 periods. They will fall behind 10-0.
Then, with 10 minutes left in the 3rd... Flames give up 2 more goals.

I really don't understand all these shenanigans about Frolik. It seems like no matter what they've tried, nobody else on this roster can play effectively with Backlund and Tkachuk. Are we comparing Quine to Frolik now? That's ridiculous! Just let him play and re-build confidence.

I think at some point, this constant line juggling has to simmer down. We need to start to get some consistency and lines/combo's getting used to each other so they can build off of that. And let's not let Ritter hang out to dry again please. A lot of good goal tending performances are going to waste.

Quine is better suited for a bottom 6 role IMO. I like Dube but I want him to develop as a top 6 scorer, not a third line plugger (i.e. Bennett). Let him do that in Stockton until you can commit to giving him consistent minutes higher up in the lineup. In the meantime, I'd rather see what Mangiapane can do after a few more games...

Yeah, I heard that as more of an effort thing and knowing if your teammates are going to show up or not. Not necessarily who you're going to be playing with.

Sounds like Peters and his staff have a good handle on who is trying and who is mailing it in.
