Sarich has won me over with his latest stint. I've liked his point of view and found his comments to be insightful into the game and locker room. I'm only guessing but he seems interested in this as a possible second career as he'd doing the between period hits too. I could see with a bit more experience he'll be good at it. He seems to be loosening up a bit on the radio too and getting in on more of the banter.

I like the idea of Krahn and Sarich with Boomer...hell, bring all three together and let Boomer moderate. A podcast or something for an 18+ crowd would be fun, they could bring Big Ern in on it too.

I don't think they'd have the budget for it. As former players I think they would be paid in the vicinity of what Rhett was making and the room had hinted in a teasing manner at Rhett's salary being high over the years.

They can't be paying Krahn much - he's not a former NHLer, unless you count 20 minutes, with a .667% and a 9.0 GAA.

Sarich is already drawing money for the odd TV gig he does for the Flames. I recall him saying in 2015 he'd be willing to play in the AHL after his accident. So I don't think he's turning down money. Plus it might just be fun (I assume that's why Commodore does it, plus it keeps Commodore's name out there for his other work in sales).

Yes I think he uses St. John on 660News
Trace Venture was actually a name he used before Trace St. John and then brought it back for the Fan reports.
He was also on Cjay years ago as "the boss's newphew" Timmy? I can't recall.

Pure shtick.
Again - not everyone's cup of tea. That's cool.
I will say that in addition to trying to add humor he also prides himself in ensuring he gets accurate and timely information out there. He takes his job seriously.
But again if you don't like him - I get that.

Yes. It counts. If you make "the show" in any capacity, it counts, and you get to call it legit.

And for the record, despite his self depreciation, and our recollection of him as a first round bust, he was absolutely lights out good in the AHL for the short stint where he was healthy.

Quote:
Krahn, 28, played in 22 games for the Texas Stars of the American Hockey League (AHL) this season, posting a 17-4-0 record and five shutouts with a 1.83 GAA and a .945 save percentage. He helped Texas reach the 2010 AHL Calder Cup Finals appearing in 11 games in the postseason. He went 7-4-0 with a 2.48 GAA and a .924 save percentage in the 2010 AHL Playoffs.
He was a bust, but there was talent there

Oh course they don’t, but it it’s fun to dream isn’t it?

Sure its legit but I doubt he has much insight into NHL life, except from talking to buddies.

He was legit in the NHL. He also didn’t legit make money like Commodore and Sarich did during his career. Which is what the poster was referring to in terms of what the costs would be to make these guys want to wake up at the ass crack of the morning and go on the radio.

That's why I said Krahn could use the cash (I also believe that the other two are not that wealthy). But they bring different insights and Krahn's isn't how things are in the NHL (other than the fact he does probably hang with quite a few NHLers) having only played a 3rd of a game once. He probably has a ton of insight into the struggles of a minor leaguer.

Of course, on that show, sports insight isn't really called for.

When he read out the tweets against him...

Was very very funny.

Would love having like others have said Boomer with Krahn and Sarich with Boomer.

I only listened for a minute before the did NFL stuff and heard them refer to a guy as Troy. I wondered if that was him. Good on him for doing it. He had to know he'd take some shots.

Any good stuff worth summarizing?

Quick math with the little available on google tells me Commodore earned at least 6 million US in his career. And Sarich well over 20. I’d be surprised if Krahn earned over 750k in actual earnings playing the majority of his time in the A.

So yeah I mean Krahn is probably the most affordable guy for them to keep on the show.
