Default Flames vs Coyotes, 7pm Mountain Time

Time to charge forward now and get Flames fans excited about the season.

5 things to watch:
https://www.nhl.com/flames/news/5-th...es/c-310879756

Some home games are going to be nice, 4-1-1 record at home, only 6 total home games so far.

I will donate $10 to CP if Janko and Bennett are held pointless tonight.

11 games to American Thanksgiving.

90% of teams in playoffs on Nov 28 will make the dance.

I have a feeling that with how weird the schedule has been for a few teams this season there will be a bigger shift in this number this year.

Nice little home stand here. First game after a long trip is usually pretty tough, but they have a tired Arizona team coming in.

Expect Arizona to push hard in the first, get a goal or two and have all Flames fans reeling during the intermission. Flames will come out in the second with a strong push and end up with the lead heading into the third.

Monahan, Gaudreau, and Gio all with two points minimum tonight. Flames W and the momentum starts rolling for this team.

^^ Friedman picks a date a few weeks ahead of that and the Flames were in, so, I guess we can all relax?

This game feels a little "trap game" to me.

3rd game in 4 nights for the Flames including travel back from the East Coast.

Arizona played last night but also a very well structured team that hasn't given up much to other teams this year, and has two good goaltenders.

First game after a long road trip is typically a dud. I can accept a loss tonight.

Lose to NJ on Thursday? Less acceptable.

Tkachuk on RW!

Is this new or has he been on the right side the last couple games and I've failed to realize it?

Seems like a typo, because I believe usually Mangiapane plays RW.

Coach said they like Mangiapane on his LHS and moved him there the other night to positive results. So he stays. For now I suppose.

Wills writes:

"Peters told me earlier this season that at this stage of Mangiapane’s career, the coaches think he’s better on his natural side than he is on his off-wing. While I think the Flames will continue to rotate the winger that plays with Tkachuk and Backlund, I also expect to see Mangiapane play more top-six minutes moving forward. He’s earned it."

Nope, Tkachuk has been on the RW when Mangiapane moves up. Peters tried Mangiapane on the right side some this year, but made comments after a game or on a practice day a few weeks ago pretty much saying Mang is a LW at this stage and can't quite play on his off wing yet.

Fata'd by Toonage.

Given all the clamouring on here about the Oilers getting tired teams, watch the Flames blow this opportunity. Just seems to be how this season has gone.

Sportselect Info
Coyotes Win = 2.8
Overtime = 3.6
Flames Win = 1.8
Over 5.5 = 1.65
Under 5.5 = 1.75

Have to start beating Pacific division and Western conference opponents. I think tonight is a good chance to do so as the Flames have traditionally had success against the Coyotes, but I think right now they are playing a better/more consistent game than the Flames. Will be interesting to see if there's a team wide hangover being the first game back from a long road trip versus a team that played last night. If Calgary can come out strong instead of having to chase the game I think they get the win.

Flames and coyotes both come out strong in the first but flames end up winning the second and third. 5-2 final score
