Hey guys,
wondering if any mechanics or mechanically inclined CPers might have some advice on this starting issue i'm having on my 2013 Camaro
background: a couple weeks ago i started up the car and it struggled a bit but did turn over, but it was very rough idle, the car was literally shaking. A warning indicator came on saying service stabilitrack system.
I turned the car off and then on and had the same issue, but i proceeded to drive it down the street and the issue went away.
fast forward 2 weeks later to yesterday morning and the same issue came up when I started the car. I shut it off and went to restart it, only this time it did not turn over and has not turned over since. I have tried boosting the battery, (although i was sure it wasn't a battery issue as all other electric components work fine)
I took a video and posted it on youtube to see if any one can help diagnose before I get it towed
What happened when you gave the car a boost? Take the battery to Canadian Tire or Parts Source and have it load tested. FYI all other electric components work fine does not mean the battery is fine a starer motor draws 10x more than anything else in the car.
Sounds like it is starving for fuel. Is the gas really old, or did you fill it recently? Could be vapour lock, or a clogged fuel filter.
I filled it up around the 8th of October. Gas gauge reads about 3/4 full. And then I was on holiday from the 10th to the 20th. So it sat outside and no one drove or started it.
and then in the last 12 days since I got back from vacation, I drove it maybe 3 times.

When I gave the car a boost, nothing changed. It was as if I had never attempted to boost it at all.
It's certainly possible it's vapour lock with the temp swings we had and you not driving it. I'd try the gas line antifreeze suggestion, thoguh it may take awhile for it to work itself through the fuel system, so hopefully you can get it started after you add it. This time of year is always tough as they are re-blending for winter gas, but we still get warm and cold days.

Fuel pump or fuel pump relay? I've not seen this in a Camero before but have in other vehilces. Just is not getting enough gas to fire, certainly doesn't seem like a battery issue. I wouldn't give much hope to using gasoline antifreeze as it has not been near cold enough to freeze up but certainly could try it.

If it first started when we had that cold snap I would try some gaseline anti freeze.
Gas line?
Vaseline?
Gasoline?
Please clarify. It could be any of the above.

Had an issue similar to this on my 2011 sierra. Bought a new battery and that didn't work. Turned out to be the fuel pump fuse was blown *facepalm* Swapped it out and turned over instantly. No issues since.
