[PGT] Flames lose 2-1 in Carolina

I was fuming right after the game but I’ve calmed down. I think I would rather us have some adversity now and battle through it, rather than later in the season. We’re lucky we’re in a weak division and a slow start might not be as dire as in other divisions.

It is hard to stay positive watching these games and lack of effort though.

This team is a joke outside one player, but unfortunately the goalie can’t win you every game, especially when you go almost 20 full minutes without getting a single shot on goal.

Go back to run and gun. Trying to take this team and have them play team D and tougher is silly.

This is like watch GG hockey again. You can’t play a tight system with a team that’s small and weak . Use your speed.

The flames 100% don’t skate thru hooks and holds to draw penalties. If you’re not skating (or trying) you’re not getting the call.

What, because it was brought up by 1 guy on Chiclets? The majority of the league is considered a partying crew. The closest teams are the ones that go out together. A bunch of 20 year old millionaires are going to party and the fact is, we don’t see them in the news as we have with Matthews, E Kane, P Kane, Big Buff when younger, Lucic when younger... the list spans most of the league. They are capable of partying responsibly and performing on the ice as we have seen to be true.
I feel this training camp could have used a much more intense hard working vibe and it’s caught up with them. It’ll turn around and I imagine Gio will be a huge part in that being the leader he is!

That's may be the thing. When this team forced to play depensive game they usually lose. New coach comes and play run and gun game they make playoff. 2nd year the coach try to improve depensive game they out off playoff. For this group depensive, hard grinding game doesn't suit well.

At some point I really wish this team would stop cheaping out on coaches so we could see what a high end coach could do with this team. The league figured them out after the ASB and Peter's has shown no ability to adjust anything other than line combos.

I would also seriously consider sitting Gaudreau for a game. He has been dog poop all season.

Look how much better Carolina is after Peter's departure.
