Icon28 Brendan Perlini to Red Wings for D Alec Regula

As per Lebrun via twitter :

Hearing the Blackhawks have traded Brendan Perlini to the Detroit Red Wings

https://twitter.com/PierreVLeBrun/st...458825218?s=19

Didnt think he was that bad. Wonder what Detroit is sending over to CHI.

I read he had asked for a trade because he wasn't playing really. Guess Colliton wasn't a fan.

Detroit is a good (bad) team for him to get a shot, but then again that should have been Chicago.

Does seem a little cheap - he's been about a guy who's on pace for around 30 points over an 82 game schedule in each of his three seasons.

His career PPG is 0.36, of guys from his draft year the closest comparable players are Ritchie (0.37), Kempe (0.37), Bennett (0.37), McCann (0.36).

I feel like I'd move at least a third for any of those guys.

Funny how quickly trade perception changes.

Last year Perlini and Strome for Schmaltz looked like a big win for Chicago as Strome was playing lights out.

This year Strome hasn't been as great and Perlini wasn't playing, while Schmaltz looks great (and healthy) again.

he hasn't? 7 points in 10 games is not that bad, that's 2nd on the team behind Kane. I admit I don't follow them much and I did read he's played some wing this season, but the production seems to be there.

Schmaltz has been an excellent fit in Arizona. Kind of surprised Perlini never got going in Chicago, will be interesting to see whether he can rebound in Detroit.

I just looked and 3 of those points came in the their last game.

It was 4 points in 9 games last I had seen. He also went from 17:45 in average icetime through the first 6 games down to as low as 9 minutes.

It shows the danger of drawing conclusions based on small sample sizes.
