Watched last two weeks. As usual kind of hit and miss for the last two but enough good stuff.
I’m also tired of the unoriginal Trump stuff. I skip the cold open every single time and have for a while. It’s not that I don’t like the trump jokes, it’s that it seems like they’re barely trying.
Oh and I really wish they’d require musical guests to actually perform. Half the time I feel like they may as well just play a music video and no one would notice the difference.

Of the current regular Weekend Update guests, I dislike every single one except Pete Davidson. One of the few parts of the show I’ll skip every time. David Ortiz used to make me laugh every once and a while but it now feels stale. The rest are just bad.

I think you are wrong.
Weekend Update has/is consistently the best part of the show. I like the chemistry of the two current "anchors".

I see I’ve touched a nerve. Also, reading comprehension is a bonus.
Seemed people have been complaining about the trump stuff a lot in this thread. I just commented as well.
I don’t dislike the musical guests, not sure where that came from. I just am not a fan of artists that lip sync a live performance.
I don’t skip WU, I just skip past some of the unfunny guests.
Anyone who regularly watches SNL knows the show has always been hit and miss and has been since it’s inception, it’s the nature of sketch comedy.

With fresh takes like "sometimes it's hit and miss" and "it's sketch comedy" we can tell you're a regular watcher. Like, for sure for sure. Very hot content! 
But seriously, I assume people were confused (I know I was) not because of "urgh reading comprehension!" but because your sentence is unclear. The way you wrote it makes it sound like you skip Weekend Update.
Which would be insane, actually. It's always at least good, even in weaker episodes (though I'm still confused why it was so short the other week).

I just don't find Jost and Che that funny. And it's too focused on race and politics now.
Pete Davidson sometimes makes me laugh. Jost and Che can barely read their cue cards and they smirk and chuckle almost the whole time. It's really kind of lame.

Agreed. Even the cold open Trump sketch was pretty funny, which it hasn't been for quite some time.
