Honestly, we can complain all we want about the lackluster play at the beginning of the season.
What matters most is how we finish. When we won a round in 14/15 (when we weren't even supposed to be in the playoffs), we were playing our butts off to try and secure a playoff spot. The Avs just did the same to us in the most recent playoffs.
I am not advocating that we just play .500 hockey until March, what I am saying is that the sky is not falling, we have a lot of work to do. Even being the #2/#3 seed in the Pacific isn't the worst thing in the world. We just need a really hot goaltender come March, some good secondary scoring, point production from our top forwards, and stable defense. With that we can go far. Let's learn from our mistakes right now and work on them. There is plenty of time in the season.

Flames deserved to be up one or two after the first. It didn’t happen and the Caps tightened it up after that. I thought it was a pretty decent game by the second line. The top line was checked into oblivion. The Ovie goal was soul crushing.

But Reider scored. 9 to go, and the Flames make the POs.

Talbots reaction after the first goal almost makes it seem like he had a pr Blown with his eyes or something? Odd goal

Does Jankowski have any value? Would waiving him be the worst move if you can’t find any takers?
I don’t think he’s really got his head in the game. Could free up cap space and a spot for somebody who actually cares or if he makes it through to the AHL, hopefully his confidence gets back to where it needs to be.

Just listened to post game. CGY is not dictating the play or the pace. Centres have to pick it up in all facets but as Peters said fo’s key but being that link too. Some jump and aggressiveness can get turnovers all over especially in offensive zone but with turnovers you get that quick transition and away they will go. Then they will start feeling it.
I recall the old DET teams would just break down opponents by outnumbering you everywhere on the ice. It would be just 2 on 1 via puck support. Other teams could trap, pressure it didn’t matter. They would just short pass it through teams. They would kill teams and massively outshoot them but it was via possession and making plays not just forcing shots.
I feel CGY has that ability. What do I know.

Hi fellow fans of another team with high hopes and disappointing results.
Mind if we share our pain together?

Yet again we have also failed to get a bonafide nhl caliber goalie also

Lol, we have two.

What two players that can realistically be moved (so not Frolik, Brodie, Neal/Lucic since I think they’ve tried to move them) are you moving to fit his $10M contract on this roster?
The team played fine against a good team tonight - they just need to figure out the start of the period because two somewhat soft goals to start the second is what cost them tonight.
They have the 6th worst shooting percentage and 6th worst save percentage on the league right now. Eventually I think that will normalize a bit and the team will go on a run.

In his postgame interview he said his face got snowed and he “panicked”. Yeah, strange indeed:

I don’t want to complain about reffing but it’s been horrible in my opinion this season.
And not just Flames games but in general.

This isn't going to be popular but I'm kind starting to believe Monahan isn't the answer at 1st line center. This guy just doesn't move the needle enough. It seems like the first line has been essentially Gaudreau, Lindholm, and passenger.

LOL
Passenger who has a career average of 30 goals per 82 games. Career average. Nice problem to have
You see anything die on Johnny’s stick lately?
