I think he's been the best goalie in the NHL for quite a while now. Tied with Hasek and Rask for highest career save percentage ever.

He’s not an offensive defence man, sure. But, on that shift with him on the ice, they had three or four decent chances. He kept the puck in and effectively got it to forwards several times. Then the puck takes a wild bounce from high in the air and he gets most of it - just not enough to stay onside (in the middle of the rink mind you), and that’s your comment on the sequence? It strikes me as biased.

There was a shift we had the Ducks hemmed in for what felt like over a minute. Andersson switches off and Hamonic immediately takes an unscreened shot on goal with no one in position to do anything with it. Gibson freezes for a faceoff.
I have no idea how he ever had a 33 point season... offense dies on his stick.

With all due respect to Toby Rieder, regardless of if he is OFF or ON, the Oilers are missing the playoffs.
But when Rieder is off, the Oilers are going to blame him for everything.

Tkachuk was screening in front on that faceoff after the extended pressure. I liked the shot as Tkachuk usually deflects those.

The ref initially signalled like he was giving the penalty too. Very blatant. Wtf.

Here's that shot:
Gibson has just grabbed the puck. Tkachuk screening in front and missed with the deflection.
He also took a slapper that caused a juicy rebound with 2 Flames in front right before this.

Hamonic should be getting Engelland type minutes and pay. Way overpaid and over utilized. Should be on the third pairing. Really tired of the Hamonic hype. Was never that good to begin with. Him and Stone are not that far apart.

Great replay shows how terrible a take that was from EV, another in a string of longterm hit jobs they have made on hamonic

Rasmus just left his defensive coverage on the faceoff loss.
Brutal decision.
