Last season should have been something for this team to build from but sure not seeing it yet.

I do agree that we’re not seeing the same chemistry from the top line that we did earlier last season. I am concerned that if there are problems, these guys just don’t have whatever it is that you need to battle through it.

Oh and I bet they are all hating Bill Peters these days.

Time for the leaders to step up.

The complete "no show" from the likes on Gaudreau, Monahan and Tkachuk is unacceptable...need these guys to start playing like top players again.

Dropping 3 of 4 points to the fricking Kings is unacceptable.

I think the greater likelihood is teams have adjusted to the top line and they now need to adjust back
Elite offensive players are constantly developing new ways to create goals otherwise teams know their patterns and play to them
The question is can they now adjust?

#Flames LW Matthew Tkachuk was "fine" with Doughty's hit on him in the third period: "I had a three-on-two and I kind of said, ‘whatever with the three-on-two’ and it was the first time we kind of had a one-on-one... so I let the puck go and was going to engage with him. He kind of went low on me … I don’t care. That’s how some of those guys hit me. We both didn’t do too much until that point of the game, to be honest.”

Tkachuk placed blame on himself for the emotionless game: "I think the game lacked passion from the start. That was kind of lacking from my end from the start.”
#Flames captain Mark Giordano: “That’s the only good thing that came out of this game — we’re playing tomorrow and we have to regroup. That was nowhere near what our team is about. It felt like, for whatever reason, we had no push back in this game.”

Quote:
#Flames head coach Bill Peters: “We weren’t good enough … we weren’t invested in the game and we got what we deserved.”

3-4 periods already being out shot 20-3 or 4. Did we have any that bad last year at all?

Losing is one thing. Being completely embarrassed is another. My son was so upset he went to bed instead of watching the rest of the game which he never does.

Will this be an eye opener like last years 9-1 loss? I hope to hell it is something because they have all been very underwhelming so far.

There had better be no penalties, not one tomorrow.

I bought a TV just before the playoffs, and I don't know that I've watched 4 good games on it yet

This was definitely the worst, and it's the 3rd game this year I didn't bother finishing.

Get your ####ing #### together boys, this ####ing sucks to watch.

You can't see you are in a horror flick where people are screaming at you to get out of the house. Nobody can see that from the inside.

Anyone see what happened to Bennett? I didn't see him on the bench for the final 15 minutes or so but nothing stood out to me.

There was that penalty where he was tripped knee on knee but it didn’t look like his leg bent weirdly, and I thought he played afterwards

But maybe that’s it ?

Peters said post game that he didn't have Tkachuk or Bennett available to him in the 3rd when it came to the line shuffling.

It makes more sense he was injured than completely benched given he wasn't an issue in any sense tonight.

Appreciate it. Would hope the broadcast crew would be on top of these things. (I appreciate they have a lot to follow in real time)

I haven’t hated a player like doughty since the days of kesler and bieksa. Amazingly talented player, but the constant whining to the refs and throwing hits then turtling? I don’t know how his teammates stand him. Been on a few teams with drama queens like him. Gets old real fast.

Man, the amount of ridiculous presumptions after
one bad game is laughable. Yeah, crappy effort, terrible game, but they’ll have more games like this at some point this season. Any team can beat any other team on any given night in the league. Maybe let’s give in more than 9 games before we start running guys like Gaudreau and Monahan out of town.

Giordano's flying attack is one of my favourite things in a long time.
