You’re right, I felt the players showed last spring that maybe we need a major shakeup. Instead he brought in one of the worst players in the league. To make up for his like 6th embarrassing free agent signing. Maybe the players need to take some responsibility but maybe, just maybe, Brad Treliving is a bad GM and needs to take the brunt of it. He’s a decent drafter, although he was just lucky Tkachuk fell to him and Bennett is a bust. He’s bold in trades and it’s been won some lose some. He’s been absolutely atrocious in FA.

Burke is right on.
Gaudreau and Monahan have shown nothing , for the most part.

Or how about we blame the guy who suppose to be the Flames best player and the other Flames player who just got paid big bucks.

I disagree. I think he's been one of the Flames' better skaters tonight and over the last three or four games. It's a nice change of pace compared to his weak first few games.

Lol, the Kings are not a great, or even a good team. In fact I wouldn't be surprised at all to see them go on another losing streak after tonight.
Flames are beating themselves tonight more than anything. Just a pathetic effort from everyone not named Rittich.

We should know better than anyone to not overemphasize the importance of the regular season

Ya, and most of my point is that they showed they needed a shake up from their terrible playoff performance. And they didn’t get it. So it’s not surprising that their start has been poor

No. She is not on the ice and playing badly.
Turn the sound off if you don't like her, or stream it somewhere with the LA feed.
Never figured out what people get so worked up over her about.
You don't need to listen to see what's going on. Oh...maybe you do?

Who were their worst players in the playoffs?
Is that the shakeup you wanted?

Maybe we should try hiring an elite coach and see what they can do with this group. So far they've had re-treads with limited NHl success.
I mean, is it too much to ask for us to try a pp with wingers on their off wings to open up a one time option?
Gaudreau cross ice to Lindholm...who saw that coming? We have one zone entry on the PP and refuse to try something else.
We saw Peter's get schooled in the playoffs last year, and it sure looks like its carrying over this year. His adjustments consist of line juggling, which is usually just an excuse to give his "guys" more ice.

And these points they're squandering are why they wont be at the top of the west this year.
I said it in the unpopular opinion thread, bubble team. But, they may just want it like that too. That way their momentum Carrie's them a round or two. But that's dancing on the edge of a razor. One small mistake could ruin it all.

They beat two bad teams at home and have have gotten beaten by every good team they’ve faced, in a fashion where they never looked like they should’ve won.

Taking a while to get to 5000

If they pull off an upset tomorrow then this weekend would have gone exactly how I figured W/L wise. Only reverse order.

Flames @ Kings
Every part of the organization is to blame for this bad start and these poor efforts - and yes, it’s early - but the efforts in some of these games is troubling. They need to sort this out. Why is it happening?
Players aren’t working hard enough, is there a morale issue? Wrong personnel? Are they thinking they can coast early because they burnt out too early last season?
Coaches aren’t adapting or looking to improve strategies. They’ve done a brutal job with their lines and not allowing players to get into grooves. Defaulting back to “safe” choices that aren’t getting the job done.
Treliving very publicly failed to get two trades done. It’s one thing if those failures go through quietly behind the scenes, but instead we’ve got Jankowski, Frolik, and Brodie still here all very well aware of the fact that they’ve been all but traded. Treliving’s off-season was effectively managing the team in a bubble. If you aren’t improving, you’re standing still and watching the teams move passed you.
It’s early. Hopefully they get it together here, but tonight is a big warning sign for me. To come out like this during a divisional game...don’t like it. The emotion should be on the ice tonight, and our top players should be dialled in. Instead, we’ve got Monahan, Gaudreau, Backlund, Giordano and Tkachuk being noticeably horrible - and you can’t say much else for the rest of the team.
In my eyes, Tree needs to finish his off-season work sooner rather than later.

A little repetitive but , again , when the other teams best players are better than your best players you are literally hunting bear with a butter knife.
