Effort in the 1st wasn’t bad, but what a rotten start for Hanifin and Frolik to get destroyed the way they did to start the game. The Flames top players are definitely still struggling with execution.
If the Flames can take it up a notch and keep going, good things will happen.

I agree with Burke about the shot clock in OT. It's too easy for crappy teams to rag the puck and play for the shootout now.
I also agree about prorating penalties in OT. I actually wouldn't mind it if any OT penalties just went to a penalty shot.

I agree with Burkie that they need to do something, but I think it might be as simple as adding an over and back rule in OT.
Once you cross the red line, you can't carry it back, otherwise there's a face-off in your zone.

Not the worst 1st they've played by any means but they were outworked on a lot of those special teams, the last one was nice though. Gio as usual continues to lead by example with lots of effort and getting shots through and on net.
I was pleased with Sam and Lucic they did some good things, in general Lucic makes smart plays and shows more hustle then I expected from him, if they can consistently get in the ozone and just grind it out they will pick up points as the season progresses.

I'm surprised that Staples Center hasn't upgraded their scoreboard to one of those monsters that are the size of a basketball court. It looks the same as the one they had when I went to a game there 15 years ago.
