All Detroit right now. They just can't buy a goal.

It's funny that people get caught up in the Neal drama. He was a pos in Calgary, he would have been a pos this season in Calgary. Turn the page.

There has probably never been a worse 7-1 team in NHL history.

Oilers squeak out a win against a tired team that the Flames pumped last night. Plan the parade!

Outplayed for most of the 3rd and they barely hang on for the win against the bottom feeder Red Wings. Stanley Cup here they come!

Ah yes, the 2002-3 Flames. Started 13-2-2 and missed the playoffs by a bunch.

Greg Gilbert was replaced by Darryl Sutter during the season, if I recall correctly.

It was actually 01/02 they started 13-2-2. Iginla’s Art Ross season.

02/03 was when they traded Savard after 10 games because of Gilbert. Only to see Gilbert fired like 20 games later. Man those were some dark times.

Schedule makers did do the Oilers a huge favour to start the year though.

They haven’t had their own back to back yet, and have now played 3 games where the other team is on the second half of a back to back with travel already.

Plus have played one playoff team from last year (Islanders).

And, while we can expect them to com back down against good teams, they are getting the points from the weak teams, which doesn’t always happen. So I guess they are making the most of the good fortune.

I was just thinking the same thing. All routes out of the West are likely to go through Denver.
