If you say Tkachuk three times while you face a mirror he appears behind you and jabs your kidney with a hockey stick.

Drew doesn't' seem to realize he's not playing an international game for Team Canada against the Flames

Home country fans? That's a really strange take, does he expect Flames fans to cheer McDavid?

I mean, if it was Team Canada playing the Flames for some reason, I'd still cheer for the Flames and boo Doughty.

Doughty is a real Simple Jack but this point was brought up a couple times during the media storm and I just don't understand it. Hrudey mentioned it during the broadcast and another media member did game day as well.
"They don't boo him when he played for Team Canada!" Well no sh*t. Different team, different scenario. Kesler was boo'ed in Vancouver while a member of the Canucks in the 2010 Olympics. Get over it guys.

I think Doughty is smarter than people give him credit for.
He's one of the leaders of that team and they aren't very good. This feud gives the Kings something to play for.

Okay, thought you were making it up.
Quote:
These moments are common enough to be known as “Dewy-isms.”
The time when the boys were talking about fly-fishing and Doughty thought it meant dropping a line from a low-flying plane? That’s a Dewyism. When the Kings’ charter was turning over Catalina Island and Quick told him it was Hawaii and Doughty believed him? That’s a Dewyism.

Drew Doughty isn't a smart man, but he knows what love is.

I wonder if Drew knows that Tkachuk is American. If so, I expect that he will be confused if the Kings fans boo him.

Either Mrs. Doughty is scared of Matthew Tkachuk or she is smart and knows that Tkachuk is making her son look like a fool without even trying.

Kinda weird to take the patriotic angle when you've played your whole career in the southern US

Well, they seemed to come to a bit of a truce after last game given the comments by both after. And them talking on the ice that game also seemed all mostly civil, even conversational... though, because the cameras were trained on it, any look of chatter got automatically branded as trash talk and extending the hatred.
Media almost has just taken this story and run with it to make it more prolonged and dramatic than either player may want to be bothered with anymore.

Doughty is the only one that wants a truce, he knows he can't win the physical battle head to head and now with #17 staring at his team he knows none of his teammates will jump in either, nope, his only hope is to out talent Tkachuk and win that way.
I suspect Matthew loves his being in his head and it will continue
