Wow that really picked up in the last 2 minutes. Let’s hope they come out strong in the 2nd.

The Vegas Golden Knights seem to be pretty well coached, especially considering it's so early in the season.

Up and down the lineup, everyone seems to be playing the same kind of hockey, and the Flames are having trouble creating space.

Flames look unstructured. Looks like Bob Hartley's get shelled and counterattack system

Rittich needs to settle down with puck handling. He’s just firing it hard when he can make a good pass to his d. CGY is getting bogged down in d zone. Just support the puck getbyour head up and make the play you see. Too much scrambling.

Move the puck the puck quick and neutralize the pressure.

That was quite the first period. We are not a first period team, so hopefully we come back with some better chances.

You can just tell these two are going to be playoff teams.

Nice rush by reider.

2 actual scoring chances that period. Knight's have had, what feels like a dozen.

Good game from Rittich, but he's been a bit of an adventure (in a bad way) handling the puck.

Aside from a couple of good chances, that was not a good first period by the Flames...again. Need to fix those starts, boys.

I expect we'll see a much better 2nd from the entire team, as per usual.

I an relieved that 1st period ended only down 1. Really poor hockey by the Flames once again after the first 20.

Why don’t people turn off their signature? Not a direct shot at you motocrosser.

It's pretentious.

I meant it in a light-hearted manner, teasing/joking around.

But, I thought that was obvious.

Burke is talking about the Oilers having a "real sound system."

With all these echoes, I think Sportsnet borrowed that real sound system.

The Flames aren’t as much fun to watch as they were last year (so far). They remind me of the Flames of old. Boring, lacking cohesion, chemistry and effort. Seen this movie before.....

Not only that but even at that amount there is still no guarantee Stone would have extended with the Flames but went to UFA. Las Vegas has quickly become One of the upper echelon of places players want to play. Whereas the Flames despite the recent regular season success is on the lower tier for places players choose to go to, as proven by being on a majority of lists for those with no trade clauses.

I blame the early penalty kill for the slow start

I’m irked that rittich has picked up smith’s handle the puck at all costs mentality. It seems getting the goalie touches just seems to slow the pace down and allow forecheckers to close in.

Jankowski, what more can you say.

Stone on the ice is a good way to lessen your chances of scoring a goal. Also breaks apart the highly effective giordano Brodie pairing and thrusts andersson way too high in the rotation.

No one playing particularly well, maybe first line and tkachuk

Not their worst period but not their best. Score is about right. I don’t think they deserve much better or worse. Hope they can turn it up a bit in the second.

Goal wasn't great but Rittich made up for it

Forget that period. Make the necessary adjustments, play fast and give it all you got.
