Flames simply aren’t working hard enough in the defensive zone. Can’t break out cleanly at all.

CGY first play out of zone has to be better.

Knights are playing up and jumping in front of passing targets. Flames continue to try to sneak behind them. It's not working. You're going to have to skate harder and support the puck up the ice.

Flames have had 1 shift with any zone time, and i don't think it even mustered a shot. Only 3 shot aside from the pp.

Clumpy mess is how I would describe the Flames style of play so far.

Dont think anyone's heads are out of their butts tonight. We will see how the 2nd period goes. Stone the most egregious of all the players so far IMO. Vegas is eating him alive.

It seems most teams this season have little problem getting into flames zone.. But flames have so much trouble getting into the zone with quality chances.

Their starts have been brutal in these first few games, but they always seem to wake up and look much more like last year's team as the game wears on. If they can fix their ugly starts and show up ready to play, they'll be just fine.

They're already looking much better as this period closes out.
