Was going to comment on this. Asked a question about Monahan and went on for a good 5 minutes.

Lou should just have a solo Q&A show. He provides all the questions and answers!

The "ask yourself a question and answer it" is some of the worst possible radio. Steinberg used to do it all the time too. Dreger is also really bad for it, except he does it on TV as well.

Because its about as useless as informing me that the "Sun is hot" so steer clear.
Just call the play, be about the game no the directional sound that you may or may not hear in the background.

Didn't he sign an AHL contract with Rockford?

As soon as they start on their Sport-select tickets, I go to a podcast. Days later, they tell us how the tickets performed, repeating the same nonsense from before. It is simply bad radio.

I find it helpful. When I listen I imagine what the plays look like... the direction helps that.

The replay of the picks is nauseating - a definite time to mute and head for another coffee.

Ha ha ha. It's one of those things I didn't notice as much in the past but now everytime I hear him come on I laugh when he does this.

If you were smart, you would go buy tickets that were the exact opposite of what they pick.

What about when they have one of the hosts talking through a mask muffling their voice to the point it’s inaudible?
I have to give them credit. They take dumb & terrible radio to a new level.
Then dare or almost beg people not to listen if you criticize them on the text line.

Walker went to TO about 4 1/2 years ago. Left there for Van...maybe 18 months ago or so?

So whatever happened to them getting rid of Rome? Hey Kearsh? Wasn't that the whole impetus for this thread?

For all the complaining about Wills (myself included), everyone should remember that the most likely alternative would probably have been to give Rob Kerr another shot at PBP...

Rob Kerr, at least in the early days, was good at PBP on radio. When he did Hitmen games during the lockout while Mark Stiles handled the TV side, he was entertaining enough that I muted the Shaw feed.
When he called a period of Flames hockey the night they honored Maher, he was good. He has a goal call for Langkow that's overflowing with enthusiasm, even if it is a little hacky.
Radio was Kerr's medium. He was never a TV guy. He seemed to have trouble marrying the visuals to his call. Radio would've mitigated this.
He wouldn't have been the best man for the job, but he's better for it than Wills.
