Headphones for MP3 Player
So I just got my Creative Zen Vision 30GB player, and need new headphones. Doesn't really matter if it's earbuds or earclip style. Looking to spend up to $100. Also, where should I buy? Or should I just go to BestBuy/Futureshop?

The problem I've found with the expensive ear buds like shure and Etymotic that create a seal in the ear, is that you can't exercise with them. Every time the cord moves, or even the sound of your foot hitting the treadmill makes for unbearable sounds. They sound great while sitting around though.

I had the same problem. I can't find the old style of ear bud anymore either.. at least not ones that are close to good quality. I miss them.

I bought some Koss Porta-pros a few years ago. They aren't aesthetically very fancy but they sure do give nice sound.
I've heard lots of good things about Shure but haven't tried them.
And those Creative Ear Buds suck ass (I didn't like the iPod earbuds either)

Stay away from the Skull Candy buds. Any movement at all and they fall out.

I just bought a set of those this week.
Have you tried changing the rubber on them. maybe you have the wrong size and they don't hold properly.

I've read some reviews at CNET and a few other sites that the Sennhauser (sp?) CX300's are excellent. I think I seen them at Futureshop (dare I say). I would take a chance on them, but to invest around $100 in earphones is a little wack IMO. I'm in the market for a pair of earphones myself, and if I do feel like ponying up the dough, without a doubt it looks like I would go that direction. Linky Here

I have a Sennheiser for the computer and Boss for travel - Boss is amazing quality if the input source is good (7.1 available).
I personally would go with the Sennheiser (I got mine from the Source when they had a deal on them a while back) based on price - Boss is a smidge pricey.
Both are the classic style headphones (not earbud) but they arent the type that makes your head look like you are trying to contact the mothership - when I walk through PI Park afterwork on the way home, there is always a guy with this massive set of silver headphones, I swear he is trying to listen into secretive government communicae with those babies.
I have tried different earbuds, for the gym with the nano I have the Apple earbud, they are fine, I tried these other buds with some sort of soft rubber that are supposed to go in your ear and form around your drum, I could never get used to those.

Ya, I tried that.
Try and keep them in your ears on a treadmill for more than 30 seconds.

How is the 30 GB player? I have a Creative 8 GB - I need something much bigger, maybe 60 or 80 GB.
My 8 GB seems to hold half as many songs as advertised, and the battery only lasts for a couple of hours.
Is it easy to transfer songs from the 8 GB to the new one?

I've had the 30 GB Zen Vision:m, and have had it for almost 6 months. You install the software then it is just drage and drop from your computer to the Zen.
I have it with me right now and it has: 1980 MP3s, 125 photos, 88 videos (Season 1 of Rome, Seasons 3/4/5 of Scrubs, and a bunch of Office episodes, all in xvid). A charge lasts about 4 hours of video viewing. I don't know how long it would be of pure music listening.

I've got a pair of Grado SR 60s. They're certainly not the sexiest-looking headphones, but for a mid-range price, the sound is exceptional--very detailed and uncoloured. The only problem is that they use an open-air design, so you'll end up getting a lot of nasty looks if you turn them up high on the bus or in a coffee shop. If I was getting a new pair for use with my mp3 player today, I might get their igrado line, which is a little more streamlined for portable use.

My Sony ones seem to work pretty well for it. I've exercised a reasonable amount wearing them.
(my only problem is I keep loosing the buds, as they pop off since I don't keep emm in the case)
