Monahan has looked great these first two games.
More assertive on the ice, skating really well, and overall looked like a more complete player.
Need the second line to get going now.

Assertive and carrying the puck more too. Possessionally strong.
Not that people will remember this when he has a scoring slump later.

The Flames have played more than a full period short handed already - 6 periods into the season.

Just watched the game before the family gets up and that is a good way to start your Sunday.
Rittich looks really good, even when he doesn't have a clear view of the shooter he always seems to be in the right place. Solid saves, even during the push back by the Nucks in the third.
One of the best lines for me was the Mangipane, Jankowski, Reider line. I thought they pressured well, created chances and never really let many chances go the other way. A lot of people not happy with Jankowski after the preseason and the game againstthe Avs but i thought that line was solid.
The powerplay is atrocious and really needs sorting out. The #1pp can't seem to get set up, the other team knows to just stand up on the blue line, stop Johnny on the carry in and send it back down the ice. The #2 pp just looks like a bunch of misfit toys, I just shake my head at the players they are putting out there. Hopefuully they don't stick with the lines for too long and try something different.
Hamonic is a total warrior and deserves a hell of a lot more respect for what he brings to the ice each night. He blocks shots, stands up for players and take real punishment. Hanifin also looks a lot better this year, more engaged and trying to get his shot of when the opportunity arises as well.
Peters really had the blender out from the middle of the 2nd onwards, but that was probably due to resting the pk guys.
A quick note for the Nucks, who I thought were actually pretty good. I think they will win more games than people expect this year.
On to the next one.

Hey UK, if you haven’t watched the After Hours segment yet, make sure you do.
One of the best interview performances I’ve ever seen.
You get a real insight into Chucky, the holdout, what Lucic brings to the team and the flawless way he handled difficult questions.
We are very lucky fans to have him on our team.
