I've noticed someone is in a better mood since they've climbed out of the blue and into the red...

Anyways, yeah I agree it has gotten better.

A few people who used to get in some of the most heated debates in this forum don't seem to post in here much anymore (which is a shame, the points debated were valid even if some of the attacks weren't). I'm not sure if that is just minding their p's & q's or there is enough to debate in the main forum.

I just thought it was kind of a lull in the news lately. Not much really happening.

It's the fear of getting a blue square that has stifled some debates. Myself, personaly, I think twice before posting a different point of view, and in some cases I just click out of the topic instead of posting my post.

My humble opinion of course.

I doubt the intent of blue squares was ever to stiffle debate. But if a debating style includes the phrase "you are an idiot" (no matter how justified it may have been) then it is probably a good thing not to even start.

Sure it has. Without getting into details here I was given a blue square for having a different opinion on a topic. And no i'm not complaining about why I got it. I post alot less because i'm sometimes unsure of what type of post constitutes a blue square.

I have noticed the board is quite slow lately but I am not if that is due to the rating system or due to a lack of stuff happening.. (man I miss trades.... ).

I did notice another "Roger Millions thread" which If I remember correctly was the start of the problems last time and guess what; I was looking at the bottom of the page and look who I seen there reading the thread.... yes it was Roger.....

You said I doubt the intent of blue squares was ever to stiffle debate and I gave you an example where it did. Now you're asking me where you said it hasn't? I'm sorry i'm not sure what you are trying to say. Can you explain further?

Edit: I see what you are saying. My bad.

I don't thank the 'skill' is the reason for the improvment, as much as the weeks of discussion around ways to improve the board. That brought everybody's attention too it.

Well, you're right Jordan, and you can contribute it mostly to yourself.

You've definately cleaned up your act.

Blue squares are not given out for differing opinions. If you think that's the case send the post to use and we will look into it. I strongly suspect the blue square was given for a different reason though.

Oiler fans who were otherwise bored and contributed nothing here, came here, are currently fighting amongst themselves on their board with their tailspin.

Canuck fans who raised crap here, are too busy patting themselves on their back (or other form of gratification), also contribute to things easing up around here.

Yes and no, I think people who have in the past baited me are holding off due to the skill system.

That and I take it all in stride if it does happen, and laugh most of the time.
