I have faith they will show better the next 2 periods and if they dont I already came to terms that we probably weren't going to win the season opener.... if the last 10 years have taught us anything

First period was garbage. Sloppy penalties, chasing the play. Lucky to not get scored on more. Unlucky on the blatant missed call.
I just want to see them gather themselves and play a lot better. See if they have any mental resilience.

Reset for period two, we could still win this. Chucky looking super rusty and Bennett looks same as ever unfortunately. Was hoping he would build on his good playoffs

What a but shellacking that period was. It was basically the playoffs all over again. Couldn’t match their speed and couldn’t match their intensity. The Avalanche will win a Cup in the future if they keep playing like this.
Team better start skating and better up their urgency if they want to win this game.

Lots of fumbled passes and turnovers that gave the Avs too much zone possession. It's one period, it'll be fine.
Rittich has been fantastic.
Hanifin is going to have a breakout season. And Kylington too, maybe.
