Predict the lineup on opening night!
OK guys, the preseason is over. Most of the camp attendees have been shuffled off into the appropriate spots, but the opening-night lineup is still very much up for debate.
What do you see as the likely lineup on Oct. 3?
My guess:
Gaudreau - Monahan - Lindholm
Tkachuk - Backlund - Frolik
Lucic - Ryan - Bennett
Mangiapane - Jankowski - Rieder
scratched -- Czarnik - Quine
Giordano - Brodie
Hanifin - Hamonic
Kylington - Andersson
scratched -- Stone
Rittich
Talbot

This is pretty close, but I bet Quine gets sent down and Rinaldo is in the press box. They trade Czarnik for picks in the first 2 weeks of the season.

Someone said the team wasn't as high on Kylington as we or the media were, I'm wondering if Treliving gets weird and trades him for something like Honka or Poolparty.
I dont know. I dont think they sign McDonald.

This is exactly how I see it, except with only one extra forward. The Flames will carry only 22 players until someone is moved or ends up on LTIR.

Probably this but with Quine sent down but wouldn't rule out Czarnik being sent down to save more cap space.

That's a good starting lineup.
I'd expect to see the bottom six put into the blender quite regularly as well as the d pairings with the exception of Hanafin/Hamonic.

I still think Treliving will sign MacDonald and send Kylington down in the next few days. If there are plans for trading Brodie, then signing MacDonald now makes sense rather than trading away picks for a similar quality depth defenseman at the trade deadline.
