I just rewound to watch Backlund's last shift. Nothing noticeable happened that would have led to an injury. No hard hits or blocked shots. It was right at the end of the PK just after Dave made the Big Save on Draisaitl.

Hopefully it's just something minor and they took him out as a precautionary measure. Whatever is bugging him, there's no need to aggravate it further in a preseason game.

To be fair, for many casual fans around the league who may not have fully tuned in to the offseason moves, they’ll just assume from previous years of Oilers comedy and ineptitude, that Lucic and Reider scored on their own team tonight, and not give it a second thought.

Kylington - Andersson
- Stone
I think Kylington is going to make some mistakes, but I also think he is ready to grow into a spot in the NHL after a number of years in the AHL. He's got a ton of upside, and I want to see what he can do with a full-time role.

If it was, it wasn't on that shift. It was a change on the fly, so there was no faceoff prior to the shift.
