Toronto is the toughest team to project. When healthy they are good. 1 top player goes down look out. Their depth is very very bad. They really can't afford injuries to any of Mathews marner tavares Reilly barrie or Anderson. They maybe can survive muzzin or nylander injuries
The jets are a mess. Unless laine and connor sign soon they should get off to an awful start.
Rest of Canada are non playoff teams with outside chance at wild card spots. Ottawa has no chance. Probably could say same for oilers and habs

Jets - They’ll be better than people think
Canucks

I think that Montreal will surprise some people, and I think that Toronto's NBA style roster will be exposed by some good opposition coaching. They are going to be good at home where they can control matchups, and crushed on the road.
Vancouver shows enough promise to make a big jump in two years. Barring dumb GMing.

Well, I'm guessing that all he wanted was to hear some people say that the Jets won't be as bad as he fears.

Ottawa I'm calling a surprise team. Kind of team that others will look beyond but they'll be plucky and opportunistic resulting in a better record than edmonton. Because they don't get looked past because of McJesus and Draisatl.

I genuinely think the Jets will finish dead last in the West this season... that defense is ungodly and their forward group looks especially thin without those two RFAs.

I got Vancouver over WPG. In a central division that all got stronger. The Jets went the absolute other way. They may still get their remaining two RFAs signed but theyre still much thinner than last year. No buff, myers, trouba just to start.

Scheifele, Wheeler, Ehlers, Connor, Laine is still a very formidable top 5. As good as any.
No question the D got blitzed though.

That's why I said 'as bad as he fears'. But it was just some friendly ribbing, no need to get excited.

Can anyone explain why the Jets should take such a nose dive? I think they will sign Laine before the season starts. I know Buf is going through something right now and Trouba was traded, but aside of that... They have a decent roster. For me their biggest issue is the insane contract they gave to Hellebuyck .It's a guaranteed 60 games a season for him, but only if the team in front of him is getting it done despite his mediocre goaltending. If they get into trouble they will be forced to play the better goalie. Brossiot could be their story this year.
