The behaviour is mildly creepy in Canada, in Arizona it's suicidal, dumb morons are lucky she didn't just shoot them.

Anytime something like this happens, someone always brings up the, “what if the roles are reversed???” argument as if that somehow negates the fact that what actually happened was wrong. Let’s stop perpetuating the assumption that there wouldn’t be a negative reaction if a group of drunk women harassed a man in a car. The reaction might not be as large if the genders were reversed, and while that might not seem fair, it’s also not fair that women in general had to endure years of being harassed by groups of men with little to no consequences.
Believing in equality doesn’t mean being a “white knight” and providing protection because that’s not what this is about. Equality is believing that men should and can be held to the basic conduct of self-control which for many years has been lacking under the pretext of, “boys will be boys.”

I'm not excusing Matthews with “Boys will be boys” he is one of the top stars in the NHL and plays for a team that is constantly under scrutiny; he needs to be smarter.
But be honest, if this was just some group of drunken fratboys would you care about it? Would it enrage you?
Also I find it strange how she constantly references how she is a female to the drunken idiots and the police officer. If she feels so vulnerable she really shouldn't be a security officer working overnight.
I know plenty of female officers and they don't need their hands held or protection. They are strong and proud of their jobs. They don't need a man to protect them when their jobs get dangerous.

These kind of things will always be controversial. If only all men were gentlemen and all women were strong enough to deal with those few that were not. Lets stick to hockey now, shall we? Do the Leafs trade Matthews before the end of his current contract? I would put my money on it even before this incident.

Was about to post this, if my memory is correct there's over 600,000 guns registered to women in Arizona with 80,000 having concealed weapons permits.

None of those things were involved in this.

Yeah, the building's security camera. Those have been around a lot longer than iPhones or social media have been.

After reading the report, i though she was putting her self into a potentially bad situation by exiting the vehicle, but that is her job.
I get a very creepy feeling about Mathews after reading this.... almost like he was the popular star who might rupee someone in college and get away with it.
That said, i will never accuse him of it but i wouldn't trust my adult kids with him.
This story is fully of bad potentials, and i'm glad that it didn't read something more serious.
We will never know Matthews true intentions, but hopefully he never does it again and if he does then i hope he is caught.

The NHL just released a warning encouraging all adult kids to refrain from attending NHL games or events that Auston Matthews will be attending.
Also it advised adult kids to never, ever accept a drink from Auston Matthews because it has likely been rupeed and putting rupees in a drink is disgusting because who knows where that money has been.

Not sure what this has to do with anything but......yes?
I installed security cameras in the mid 80's as a matter of fact. They were around long before that and generally footage was kept on beta/vhs tapes before going full digital and onto a hard drive.
Pretty common on buildings and in businesses for a lot longer than Matthews has been alive.
"Iphone era" is a good one though, thanks for that!

I'm sure most of us have done drunk, stupid things. However, none of us are getting paid $12M per year and aspire to captain a prominent pro sports team.
When you're in his position you're in the public eye 24/7 and are rightfully held to a higher standard of behavior. I could care less if it was a man or woman in the car, the point is when you're in his position doing stupid things like this. It just isn't an option when you want to present yourself to the public as the squeaky clean role model type of player everyone expects you to be in your position.
Unless he just doesn't care, in which he can just carry on doing whatever he pleases and public opinion be damned. I mean - as long as he's a great hockey player on the ice who cares about anything else? Right?

This is true. He needs to be smarter 100% but it wasn’t malicious it was a joke. He could have legally been shot in self defense here. I have a gun in my car as do most people I know. People you wouldn’t consider to be “gun nuts” to which I am not either.

I find the posts questioning the guard's behavior the strangest. Debate the seriousness of what he did if you feel you have to, but if you have to call her character into question then you really don't get it IMO.
Questioning whether she was asleep on the job, frightens easily, isn't a good security guard or whatever the case may be; I just don't see how it's relevant to his behavior?
