Maybe not, but this doesn't absolve Matthews of responsibility. We don't know if he's high on anything else, and even if he was, I don't think that grants him a free pass.

Get a grip.
If you can't grasp that is far more common for a woman to be sexually harassed by a man than vice versa, then I don't know what to tell you.

You seem to be trying REALLY hard to excuse this behavior.

I dont think any of them sexually harrassed her. Maybe i missed that in the article. Mooning someone from a distance I guess is something.

A measure of his character would be to know how he handled this once he sobered up. This was his building and he likely knew the lady, or had seen her before.

Did he go out of his way to apologize, seek to make amends, demonstrate remorse etc.?

Or did he wait until he was found out. Because I promise you the public apologies and contrition will be coming now and they usually mean squat.

Genuine remorse and an apology don't change the fact that this was unacceptable behavior, drunk or otherwise. But it might give you an idea if he learned something from it and is prepared to accept the consequences of his behavior, or if he is just another entitled rich superstar.

Absolutely not! Gender doesn't change whether the behavior is acceptable.

He's in trouble and that's fine. No one's suggesting he be murdered for doing something that has consequences.

I’m not sure about the merits of demonstrating good character in such a litigious society.

Probably safest just to deny the whole thing. Seems to work down there.

Definitely. I’m just saying that alcohol abuse is far too normalized in our society and is often a catalyst for awful and dangerous behaviour. I think it’s role in events like this and more serious crimes needs to be looked at.

Stupid drunken decision by a young man. Hopefully he learns from this and there is not a reoccurring pattern of bad behaviour from misconceived entitlement.

Okay fine. If a woman gets drunk and starts harassing a guy in large groups, that'd also constitute disorderly conduct. If the crux of your issue is that there isn't the exact same standard for women, then you have to ask yourself why that is. As others have said, you can't possibly believe that this kind of behaviour is equally as common as men harassing women.

This can be both an awful thing to do, and a dumb mistake that shouldn't significantly impact the guy's career. Both of those things can be the case, and, I think, are the case here.

I never mentioned anything about what is more common. Just mentioned that it goes for men and woman. Drunk and stupid is drunk and stupid

Ok. But I didn't read anything about sexual harrassment either.
