Good times.....
Nah, I remember people jumping on an idiot teenager for being stupid tbh

Surprised you remember all that with your join date, though

How many "brand new" posters have been around the boards for a long time before signing up?

I know enough about this place to know you are a troll.

But that's the MO for established posters seeing fresh meat here. Attack the person because they don't belong and try to sus out if they are a troll, a returning poster, stupid or any of the above before accepting they might just be a Flames fan with their own opinions and ideas that may differ from what can become an echo chamber.

I remember full well how annoying many of TheScorpion's early threads were to many other established users and how the kid was attacked not for the opinions, well other than the David Jones love, than the posting style, age and immaturity.

And now the circle is complete. TheScorpion is one of the rest of you doing exactly the same thing.

First Bingo, now Jiri. Are there any mods on this site who aren’t trolls?

Here's an English lesson for you: "even" is an adverb used to express surprise. In this instance it is being used to emphasize the significance of Giordano's decision to move permanently to Calgary by drawing a comparison to the greatest Flames player of all time. If I had thought poorly of Iginla, or begrudged him his desire to chase the dream of winning a Stanley Cup outside of Calgary, then this comparison would make no sense. Rather, because I think highly of Iginla already, it speaks very meaningfully to my regard for Giordano on the basis of this decision. In other words: Iginla's commitment to Calgary was incredible, which makes Giordano's appear even more impressive. It DOES NOT disparage Iginla in any way to point out that Giordano's relationship to the city is different.

God. It's unbelievable that I need to explain this.
In other words....

Thanks for the English lesson.

My mistake. I momentarily confused Bingo being accused of being a troll of Jiri.

I often confuse the 2 up when reading the board on my own and have to double check the name and avatar. My bad. I own it.

Oh god, I'm one of these people? I think my time here has reached its end.

TLJ there are so many new posters who seamlessly join the discussion here without causing multiple thread derailments and lashing out about the status quo of the site... Scroopy Noopers comes to mind, excellent poster who joined without incident. There are lots more

The way you're arguing your opinions in these threads is very sanctimonious and is putting down a lot of posters. Since you brought me up -- I was a lot of things when I first joined but I wasn't actively calling people out. And yeah bad posters can find a place on this site... I used to be a horrible poster (some still hold that opinion) but I figured out how to interact with people and now I usually manage to post without incident...

Oh and by the way, yeah my post was a little snarky but I don't want you to be banned... that is unless you're circumventing one yourself

Have we begun the game yet? The game of "which banned poster is the new guy?"

Pretty early still and he has already laid all the cards on the table.

Im going with the old jets fan who just pushed too hard. Cannot recall the name.

Yes, I know that.

Doesn't seem likely, though, that they were anonymously reading the forum, then all of a sudden created an account in order to post like this today.

And yet here you are....

All because a long time member took offense to someone responding to their misleadingly written post.

Right way to handle a misinterpretation: "My mistake, I misunderstood you."

Wrong way to handle it: Attack everyone else in the thread.

TLJ, it's okay to be wrong. It's less okay to get snippy with others for not communicating a point to you in a way that you understood. There's really no need to be defensive, IMO.

Back on track - where DID Iginla spend his summers? I feel like I should know this.... But I don't know it.

Well, I'd say that poster is gone for good, but only a Sith deals in absolutes.

This is nonsense. The market has changed since Gio signed his deal, the Flames can’t operate that way if they expect to remain competitive.

Besides, it’s already been reported by Friedman they Calgary is prepared to make Tkachuk their highest paid player.
