Gillies has been horrific of course, and he has really put his position with the Flames in jeopardy.

But what really concerns me about this game is that it is the 3rd time already in this preseason that the Flames have been complete no-shows in the 3rd period. I don't know what the problem is, but it needs to be fixed immediately.

Poor Gillies. He was such a great prospect until his injuries. I bet CHED will be just amazing tonight.

Time to make a #### load of of cuts and get the NHL team together. Not many of the minor leaguers has shown much and the try-outs have been nothing more than meh. Get the roster set and get the team focused in the last couple of games so they hit the first game playing like a cohesive unit.

I take it back. The Oilers will be at least a 90 point team. They have all the ingredients to go on a long run this season, this game was proof.

He's a very Jekyl and Hyde player in terms of gap control. Sometimes he'll have a month where I'm very happy with his gaps... and sometimes he turns into a 6'2 Russell.

That will be the peak of the Oilers' season, so I'm okay with this.

Do they even have post-game call-in during the preseason? SN960 doesn't.

I don’t think hanifin is the right partner for him

Hopefully the last we see of Gillies. He's below average in the AHL, and all he does now is take time from actual goaltending prospects.

Hit the road bud.

It's unfortunate we haven't seen any meaningful sample of a Kylington-Hamonic pair. They'd complement each other on paper.

4 games to go, I'd say some cuts tomorrow, but give some longshots a final go Sunday, and then cut a bunch after the road Winnipeg game Sunday. Bubble players play Tuesday and maybe a one or two Thursday, but have the main roster play those last two in SJ Thur and then here Sat to get some continuity.

Loan Gillies to another AHL team and if no one wants him then sit him in the press box in Stockton. Can't waste having him in the net over Zagidulin or Parsons.

I'd like to see Zagidulin get some action against better competition. Right now as it sits, he's the organization's number three.

That was the first time I have heard Jack Michaels - he is beyond belief. Bob Stauffer actually sounded like the calm voice of reason next to him.

Reminiscent of rittich and his beginnings with the org.

When I saw the score had gone from 2-1 to 2-5 my immediate thought was Gillies.

What can the Flames do with this guy? Beg him to go to the ECHL or make him the worlds highest paid Zamboni driver in Stockton?

Bob took pity on Gilles, Michaels seemed to love it. Screamed Oilers like he was halfway deepthroating a hotdog

Default BOA: Flames @ Oilers. 7pm MT. streamed/SN960

What a strange game. Flames looked great for the first half against a very veteran Oiler line up. I think they had something like 9 or 10 forwards that will play on the roster this season minus McDavid and Neal.

PP and Gillies felt like the turning point though. Bad PP gave the Oilers momentum and the second Gillies arrived and let in softies, the ice tilted. Draisaitl completely took over and the team just sort of gave up and stopped caring.

Not sure what to take from the game exactly. Who were the real Flames and who were the real Oilers? All I know is Gillies is probably all but done in this organization.

Still have hopes for Parsons.

Loubo on the post game show mentions Gillies was dealing with some off-ice issues this summer. Whatever they are, I hope he resolves them.
