I gotta admit, Im addicted to it...though I agree..the cliffhangers followed by the commercials can get old after a while. I wish that the show would end when a contestant's game ended, rather than finishing halfway, but I guess they have no way of controlling that because some people take the deal sooner than later, so they have no idea how much time it will take each individual player to play the game. But I love it..hehe.

Y'know, it's funny. Tonight I watched the movie Idiocracy, and then I switched on the tube, to see Deal or No Deal. As if that wasn't funny enough, I changed the channel and got American Idol. I wonder just how far off of that movie we already are.

That's a good way to put it. The game is just simple randomeness, then the banker applies different discounts to the expected value of the remaining suitcases. Kinda boring, the only way hte show makes it by tring to make the contestants charactors ... which they do well.

They show drives me nuts, its so long and drawn out. What they do in 60 minutes could really be done in 10, if they didn't try and make it all dramatic before they open every case.

Personally I prefer Bob Saget's the 1 vs. 100.
Now that's a good show because every round you have up to 101 contestants and you can see how smart some are and how dumb some are.

My wife watches this show from time to time. I'll never understand how a show that is just pure dumb luck can be built up so much. Its ridiculous.

It drives me nuts when the contestants get mad at the banker because he gave them a crappy offer. Well it's all based on the amounts left on the board. Not on how much Howie Mandel likes you. I'm sure that guy up in that dark room isn't doing anything, some computer formula probably picks the amount you get.

I like it too, but it doesn't seem to bring out tension that Deal or No Deal brings out. I don't watch DonD for the reasons people have mentioned; they could do a player every 10-15 minutes easily, the drama is just too contrived, and it is 100% luck.
In 1v100, they had Ken Jennings (!) - who is going to want to push their luck against him? Annie Duke was on there for something like 3 shows. There just isn't the tension.

This show is a complete joke. The first time I watched I was totally confused as to why the "contestant" was running around like Richard Simmons. It made me sick. Then I proceeded to watch a few more nut jobs take the stage... worst game show ever!
And yes I'm sure that tool in the booth isn't doing anything.

Well, considering if the person takes the money they then proceed to aske "Which would you have picked next?" and rifle through whatever remains in less than a minute.
Heck, just play it here.

I hate that show, it's just odds and random luck. It's probably the only gameshow you can't play along with too.
