Brodie has to shake these things off. Gio and his mental strength is a great model for all the players. Gio and Johnny never relent or get down after bad plays. They keep playing their game. It’s the difference between talented players and star players.

1st period, should have scored on more of the chances, but looked really good
2nd period, bit of above, but overall, meh
3rd period, some D lapses and invisible goaltending lead to goals against... offense took a break
OT - more of the 3rd.

sounds like a random preseason game

Rittich in net: team plays lights out and DOMINATES.
Talbot in net: team tentative and sloppy.

Thank goodness for BSD.

Johnny? I dunno, man. We have seen him get off his game

It’s preseason game 1. Fans need to shake things off

Hopefully the Flames win to take the bad taste of that Flames loss out of our mouths.

All I can say is, it's a preseason game, no need to panic....I'm telling myself that.

He's a AAAA player with an inflated salary and no finish... you can have all the Corsi in the world but when you can't score in games that matter, there's no point in paying you more than replacement-level salary.

I'd have no problem with Czarnik for $700-750k but at $1.25 million he doesn't fit in with the Flames at all

And he's 27 in December... not exactly young, especially when some here are already writing off Jankowski

A game of hockey was still played.

Just the result that is irrelevant. Just guys shaking some of the rust off.

Fans should be embarrassed for a Bronx cheer in game 1 of preseason too.

Flames had a billion chances and didn't bury them...Talbot let in two bad ones

whatever...Talbot better get his #### together though.

I remember "its just pre-season" talk with Smith last season but it followed him right into the regular season

People actually feel emotions during these games?

I've noticed a trend of teams starting out of the gates hot in first periods, only to fade hard as the game goes on like the Flames did tonight the last couple years even though it is preseason. Might just be me.

I’m just glad to be watching hockey, even if it is meaningless

I don’t expect players to be in mid season form

they didn't fade hard...they still had the bulk of the chances in the 3rd and OT

lets call a spade a spade

Goalie blew it
