I feel like I never really know what is a good or bad deal these days unless it's regarding Flames players, but my gut tells me this is pretty good for Philly.

Looks like a good deal for the flyers here. 6 years seems to be the medium for many players.

Reminds me a lot of the Lindholm deal. Konecny has the potential to really pop and make this contract a steal.

I think that this is a good deal for the Flames. It doesn't push the market value up at all.

Not far off the 10 points per million line. Give Tkachuk 6 x $7.75 already

This leaves Philadelphia with $1,167,421 of cap-space, with 11 forwards, eight defensemen, and two goalies on the roster. They will need to add at least two more forwards, and if necessary can draw an additional $1.0 m from Tyler Pitlik's LTIR relief.
Philadelphia is such a weird team.

He certainly wasn't in the range of the premium RFA's, but this looks like it will be a good deal for Philly.

Maybe he doesn't want to give up 2 years of UFA for that money?

I couldn't disagree more. That would be terrible term.

Why is it terrible? I just finished asserting in another thread that at this point six years would be practically ideal.

Love this deal for Konecny. He bounced around the top 3 lines, but only got 15min/game with no time on PP1 and managed ~48 pts over each of the last 2 years. Give him consistent linemates and some PP1 time, and he should be a regular 65+ point player. Great deal now, should be a steal in the future. He's also a great agitator.https://twitter.com/RGilbertSOP/stat...56687732051969
