NHL 2020 Stanley Cup odds—Flames rank in top-ten @ 20-1
http://www.vegasinsider.com/nhl/odds/futures/
· TB @6–1
· VGK @ 7–1
· TO @ 10–1
· Colorado, Boston @ 12–1
· StL, Dallas @ 16–1
· Calgary, Florida, Washington, Nashville @ 20–1
· SJ, Winnipeg @ 25–1
· Arizona @ 30–1
· Vancouver @ 40–1
· Edmonton @ 50–1
· Montreal @ 60–1
· LA and Anaheim @ 200–1
· Ottawa @ 500–1
Vegas, Colorado, and Dallas all look really overvalued to me (the payout for VGK to win the Pacific Division is 1-1!), and ranking Edmonton ahead of Montreal is hilarious.

Florida also looks shocking to me. You also forgot to post about 10 teams. Carolina at 30-1 is most intriguing

Overreactions for the Avs and Dallas. They are good teams but I don't see how they should have better odds than Nashville or Washington.

Carolina at 30/1 looks like a fantastic bet. Might have to put $10 on that one

Honestly, I might have to take those odds and break my own rule about not betting on the home team.

I didn't forget. I simply figured that Pacific Division and Canadian teams as well as those with the highest odds were of most interest to Flames fans. Everyone can feel free to click on the link.

Rangers as well, same odds. I have a good feeling about them this year.

Any of you cowards brave enough to put a little action on Ottawa at 500-1?

I expect he plays more than half the games.
(They have Shestyorkin as well...)

Those odds for the Flames seem reasonable and I agree, worthy of a wager.
My own rule is I often bet on my teams, just never stupid amounts. If I'm uneasy, I'll usually balance it with an over/under bet that I feel is a partial hedge. If I'm super uneasy, just stay away.
I like these kind of futures bets but typically feel the odds aren't long enough. In Vegas earlier this summer, Flames were 12-1 which didn't seem like great value.

If anyone is in Vegas the flamingo is selling 35-1 futures on the flames right now.

I don't bet, but I often find the year-to-year sports odds interesting. Does VGK benefit from improved odds by virtue of being in Las Vegas? Since they are the first major league franchise in the city it is difficult to say, but I wonder how this will continue to play out over the years.

Don't forget that lines are set in a way to maximize betting and minimize risk for the book. I would guess being in Vegas they take some heavy volume which impacts the line greatly.
During their first season they went from 500-1 at the beginning of the year to 150-1 on March 2nd to being the favorite by April 18th. Should they have been the betting favorite a week or 2 into the playoffs? No but they were seeing heavy action.

Dallas yes, but I'd take the Avs roster over the Preds every time especially with the Turris uncertainty.

A big question mark for the Avs in goaltending. Grubauer was good last year, but has never played more then 37 games. Francouz is an still an unknown at the NHL level.

But seriously, the series of events that would have to occur in order for Ottawa to win the cup are WAY more unlikely than 500-1. Vegas robbing Ottawa fans on that one
