Id Medvedev can get this to a tiebreak he has a shot at it... a fifth set is going to be a real grind. I suspect though that Nadal will elevate his level to close it out though.

Wow. What a ballsy return on set point, going for the outright winner.
Well, you can't say Daniil isn't putting up a fight. Doubt anyone expect this an hour and a half ago.

Rafa looked a bit tired early in the 4th but honestly he seems completely fine now. Medvedev has also been beat to crap this tourney. Still have to favour Rafa. But hey, anything can happen in one set!
The crazy thing is how the NYC crowd has dobe a total 180 on Daniil since his "evil Medvedev" heel turn earlier in the tourney. They seem fully behind him here.
Nadal should get a warning for delay, noise or not, you play to the speed of the server.

^ Basically, lots of difficulty holding serve, but more trouble for Medvedev overall. But he managed to gut out a bunch of tight holds and then broke Nadal for the set twice. Nadal had a couple of easy holds going into that last game and was ahead in the last game but Medvedev hit a ridiculous return winner to take the set. Dude has been really clutch.
Another big hold on a difficult volley there. This is a really great match.
