Would this be a problem if it was the case? Not uncommon for an entertainment business to control its distribution measures. Sports broadcasters are tied to the hip with their league/team/player masters. Their limits on reporting are dictated to them.

Principe to anyone he interviews: "what's it like to be out there with Connor?"

Principe wearing the McD jock on live TV this season is inevitable.

No fair bringing Principe into the discussion. That's like me saying "I don 't like liver" and you saying "have you tried eating poo - it's much worse."

I do feel like Tim & Sid may be taking a bigger role in Sportsnet's NHL product next year.

They were at the NHL media coverage and have been promoting NHL x Tim&Sid on their social media accounts.

Rogers Media announced layoffs Thursday that will alter the morning-television landscape in Calgary.

Eleven employees with CityTV's Breakfast Television were let go and the show has been put on hiatus.

The regular morning show will be suspended effective Sept. 6 to Sept. 20, according to Rogers Media, and then relaunch with a new format on Monday, Sept. 23.

Rogers also announced Thursday that Breakfast Television in Montreal has been cancelled altogether.

This has always befuddled me, given that the money flows from the network to the team.

They've already axed a bunch on radio. Hosts and regular guests.

I feel with the landscaping changing due to social media and on demand viewing for all formats of information, a lot of personalities from the old guard will be leaving. There's not much of a need for a large cast of in studio personalities if the content isn't getting a large volume of viewership. You can make use of lower budget production and personnel to fill the outside-of-game content.

Rogers just took the machete to Breakfast Television in a few markets, including Calgary.
